Mini potato pizzas with homemade marinara, vegan cheese, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, and basil by @thefoodietakesflight 💛
Recipe.
Potato crust: 4 small-medium potatoes, makes 1 1/2 cup mashed potatoes. 1 tbsp nutritional yeast. 1/4 cup water. Salt. Pepper.
Steam/boil the potatoes. Mash the potatoes and add the water. Mix well until well incorporated. Add in the nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper.
On a lined baking tray, form into small crusts. Bake at 350F for 20-30mins, flipping halfway through, until golden brown. 
Tomato sauce: 1/2 cup tomato purée. 2 tbsp nutritional yeast. Herbs of choice.
Mix all the ingredients into a bowl.
Assembling the pizza: Potato crust. Marinara Sauce. Toppings of choice. Vegan cheese.

Arepa with beans and nutritional yeast. Never had an arepa? Think of it as a small but thick tortilla  made of corn. My avocados aren't ripe but I'll make this again with some guacamole in a couple days for sure. •

Spray your pan with some olive oil and cook the arepa on the stove to your liking. I like mine extra crunchy so I keep it there for quite a while and flip it every so often. The beans are a little trickier. These were made from scratch so we soaked them for a few hours, cooked some onions and green peppers and threw the beans onto the onions and green peppers once they were ready. Let it sit for about 18 minutes. All beans are different though so make sure you follow the instructions on the bag. OR you can buy some organic beans in a can. Save you a few hours 😂 •

What's one of your family's comfort food? Pasta is one of our comfort foods in our house.

In an effort to cut down on our dairy intake I created this vegan Alfredo-esque sauce that is perfect on spaghetti and fettuccine. I love adding broccoli too for a bit more nutrition.

Move over Wendy’s! This vegan “chicken, bacon, cheese” sandwich was perfect!! It tasted exactly like any similar non vegan sandwich. That smoky tempeh bacon is on point 👌🏼 And I think I ate almost an entire head of Parmesan (@goveggiefoods) roasted cauliflower to myself bc I ate half before I even served it 🙊🙈😂🤷🏻‍♀️ .

2 frozen bananas. .
1/3 cup of cauliflower. .
1/2 cup of almond milk.
combination of moringa,  blumajik and beet crystals. . Blend all ingredients until smooth. Top with fresh dragonfruit and mint. Enjoy!

Bomb spaghetti dinner made by our good friend and neighbour for the communal meal. We used Earth Island parmesan for the spaghetti which in my opinion was like, close to undistinguishable from animal parm. As well, we used the classic, Yves veggie ground with the sauce (all vegetables in the sauce straight from the homies, Mom's garden). And then of course Earth Balance for the garlic bread. All in all, this meal was very similar in taste to a non-vegan meal 🌿

Last night I made a big green lentil stew with veggie sausages, chestnut mushrooms, carrot, celery, onion, garlic, chilli, stock, chopped tomatoes and mixed herbs. I then toasted some Brazil nuts in cinnamon and when they were nearly done, added cherry tomatoes. I had the nuts and tomatoes as a topping with boiled green beans on the side! & leftovers today in my bento (which is just a tuppaware so I can heat it up in the microwave)💥

I bought a bit too much produce this last Costco trip but sometimes it’s a nice challenge to stay home and see how many veggies We can pack into all of our meals. 😍🍃Last night I was craving curry vegetables so we chopped in some •carrots •white onion •red bell pepper •yellow bell pepper •pressed garlic •baby Bella mushrooms •broccoli •and fresh kale. Once vegetables are sautéed I spooned in about •2 tbsp red curry paste •1 can full fat coconut milk •curry powder •salt and pepper •served with basmati rice .

300 g maustamatonta soijarahkaa (alpro go on)
2 rkl vegemajoneesia (xtran kevytmajo)
2 tl sitruunamehua

200 g kirsikkatomaatteja
suolaa ja pippuria oman maun mukaan 🌿 valuta maissi ja puolita kirsikkatomaatit. sekoita kaikki ainekset keskenään ja pastasalaatti on valmis! anna mielellään maustua jääkaapissa hetken aikaa ennen tarjoilua.

Veggie pot pie coming out of the oven last night. Delicious. Lot's of veggies and a homemade vegan filling. Veggie protein broth with cashew milk and nutritional yeast plus seasoning made this great. Mini red potatoes, fresh green beans, broccoli, onions, carrots, mushrooms.

What is a Herxheimer reaction?
Its what naturally happens in our bodies when our immune system is in working order & correctly recognizes a foreigner intruder, like a virus, bacteria, parasite, toxin, heavy metal or food additive. The body is so genius! It protects us from attack by diarrhea to flush out an offender, fever to burn out any bugs that can't withstand the heat, pains to alert that there is a problem, vomiting to expel anything problematic or rashes to exude any toxins from the skin. WOW. This is our bodies natural defense system. 
An overloaded system, the wrong pH, or food/environment that changes our how our DNA expresses itself, (epigenetics) causes the system to run incorrectly. Our stomach is supposed to be acidic (just not the esophagus)! Prednisone decreases immunity so much that is predisposes one to infections & increases GI bleeds, high blood sugars and osteoporosis. 
How about changing our stress levels, diet or educating on prevention rather than providing a quick fix to it all? As long as you have been toxic, this is how long it will take for detox. Expect Herxheimer reactions. Once the body begins to recognize the toxins, it will seek to expel the poison. This is normal in healing. Expect nausea, vomiting, fevers, muscle aches, & diarrhea.
