It sure IS! And if you disagree that’s probably because you won’t live long enough to see it, due to all that rotten meat consumption, bodily fluids and menstrual cycles you can’t stop eating due to your own human ignorance, that are slowly(but sometimes quicker)killing you.🤷🏽♂️
Arepa with beans and nutritional yeast. Never had an arepa? Think of it as a small but thick tortilla made of corn. My avocados aren't ripe but I'll make this again with some guacamole in a couple days for sure. •
Spray your pan with some olive oil and cook the arepa on the stove to your liking. I like mine extra crunchy so I keep it there for quite a while and flip it every so often. The beans are a little trickier. These were made from scratch so we soaked them for a few hours, cooked some onions and green peppers and threw the beans onto the onions and green peppers once they were ready. Let it sit for about 18 minutes. All beans are different though so make sure you follow the instructions on the bag. OR you can buy some organic beans in a can. Save you a few hours 😂 •
Try it out and Let me know how it goes! I LOVE seeing messages of your pics of the meals I've made. My meals are always super easy to make. Let me know how it goes! #plantbased#arepa
Why love one? But eat the other?
FACTS: “Pigs are among the smartest of all domesticated animals and are even smarter than #dogs ," (National Geographic)
"#Newborn piglets learn to run to their mothers’ voices, and can recognize their own names by the time they’re 2 weeks old. Sows have even been known to sing to their young whilst nursing!"
"Pigs communicate constantly with each other, and more than 20 different vocalizations have been identified; from wooing a mate to saying ‘I’m hungry!”
"Pigs are also highly #intelligent and incredibly social animals. When kept in a group they will snuggle close to one another, and prefer to sleep nose-to-nose. Studies have also shown that, much like #humans , they dream." (thepigsite.com)
Here's an idea: Let's let them live and let's keep them off of our plates.
The average pig is slaughtered at just 6 months of age.
They could naturally live to be around 10 years of age.
This would be like sending 3 year old children to their deaths.
Many pigs don't even make it to 6 months.
Often 'runts' (the small piglets) and even entire families are culled if their mother dies.
The fate of their entire lives is based on maximising profits.
What's one of your family's comfort food? Pasta is one of our comfort foods in our house.
In an effort to cut down on our dairy intake I created this vegan Alfredo-esque sauce that is perfect on spaghetti and fettuccine. I love adding broccoli too for a bit more nutrition.

I bought a bit too much produce this last Costco trip but sometimes it’s a nice challenge to stay home and see how many veggies We can pack into all of our meals. 😍🍃Last night I was craving curry vegetables so we chopped in some •carrots •white onion •red bell pepper •yellow bell pepper •pressed garlic •baby Bella mushrooms •broccoli •and fresh kale. Once vegetables are sautéed I spooned in about •2 tbsp red curry paste •1 can full fat coconut milk •curry powder •salt and pepper •served with basmati rice .
Grilled #butternutsquash simple yet delicious. Low in fat, high in fiber, heart friendly, provides significant potassium and vitamin B6 essential for the proper functioning of the nervous and immune systems. Rich in carotenoids shown to protect against heart disease and cancer. Even has some vitamin C. Eat it raw in a salad, in a soup, steamed or grilled. It's delicious either way. #butternut
Stop #2 on our RTW trip: Sanur, on the south-east coast of Bali. We spent the day decompressing on the beach, making sand boats and snorkelling and finding the kids ‘normal’ western food! Our hotel this time has a kitchenette so we can cook pasta this week- budget and kid friendly, woohoo!
Oh you know...just sitting here wishing I was going to the Magic Kingdom today so I could eat this crispy, deep fried #vegan falafel burger 🍔 and 🍟 french fries for lunch.
I tried this at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe during the last Mickey's #NotSoScary Halloween Party 🎃I went to.
I've got my review with more photos up on WheresAmanda.com (Link in profile)
What is a Herxheimer reaction?
Its what naturally happens in our bodies when our immune system is in working order & correctly recognizes a foreigner intruder, like a virus, bacteria, parasite, toxin, heavy metal or food additive. The body is so genius! It protects us from attack by diarrhea to flush out an offender, fever to burn out any bugs that can't withstand the heat, pains to alert that there is a problem, vomiting to expel anything problematic or rashes to exude any toxins from the skin. WOW. This is our bodies natural defense system.
An overloaded system, the wrong pH, or food/environment that changes our how our DNA expresses itself, (epigenetics) causes the system to run incorrectly. This is what happens in autoimmune conditions. The bodies' immune system is "stuck in the on position," alerting that their is a toxin that is continually in the system! Multiple infections let us know that the immune system is compromised or that it is overloaded & malfunctioning. Sadly, western medicine gives pills for immediate comfort that often cause longer lasting side effects or consequences. For example, Tylenol suppresses a fever-which is natural immunity. Narcotics relieve pain but prevent elimination of bowels leading to toxic overload. (The liver rids us of toxins, then dumps them into the bowels for disposal) Acid suppressing medicines alkalinize the digestive barrier against pathogens-our gut! Our stomach is supposed to be acidic (just not the esophagus)! Prednisone decreases immunity so much that is predisposes one to infections & increases GI bleeds, high blood sugars and osteoporosis.
How about changing our stress levels, diet or educating on prevention rather than providing a quick fix to it all? As long as you have been toxic, this is how long it will take for detox. Expect Herxheimer reactions. Once the body begins to recognize the toxins, it will seek to expel the poison. This is normal in healing. Expect nausea, vomiting, fevers, muscle aches, & diarrhea. Gerson therapy patients, who increase immunity through juice fasts, cruciferous veggies, supplements like iodine & coffee enemas have multiple Herxheimer reactions along on the road to health.
