🐛There is a study that compares a keto diet with a "normal" higher carb diet and they let them consume the same calories. Guess what happens? They both weigh the same after the "experiment".

🐬Yes low carb diets tend to bring faster results (faster weight loss) in the beginning due to all the water weight being lost, but longterm a diet low in carbs is not sustainable and not very healthy (just listen to Dr McDougall or Dr. Neal Barnard).

🐡Bottom line: You want to avoid gaining weight and bodyfat? Eat in a caloric deficit over a certain period of time and you WILL lose weight. And please stop demonizing certain macronutrients, I believe every single one has been shot at🔫😄

🦄Definitely an interesting topic! A lot of people don't go vegan because they ate beans once in their life and experienced gas afterwards which of course is not super comfortable, but c'mon plant-based nutrition has so much more to offer!
This post is created from my own experiences and my experimenting on how to avoid gas & bloating so these are really "field-tested"😉

🦋First you need to keep in mind that when you just went vegan your body has to get used to all the fiber it has to process. One of the reasons plant-based nutrition is so healthy is because legumes, vegetables and all the vegan food is very high in fiber and a lot of people eating a "normal" diet neglect that. It also varies from person to person, so be patient, your body will get used to it!🌿

🐳Rinse your beans before cooking them (lentils) and before eating them out of a can or jar (beans). You can also soak lentils overnight, but I don't believe this is practical for anyone out there so I suggest you rinse them and you'll be fine.

🐛Always drink water and add vegetables to your bean heavy meals and trust me this will definitely help if you struggle with bloating😉

🐤A very important aspect also is to chew your food (especially lentils) very well and don't gulp it down else you will really feel the consequences😄💨
And overall try to avoid eating 300g of cooked lentils at once and combining them with more beans, be smart about your food choice!

My partner Ash and I have been vegan now for about 4 months and were vegetarian for about a year and a half before that. We were living over in Belize doing some volunteer work and living amongst a large group of vegans so had to adapt our diets. The new ingredients and animal product substitutes excited us so when we came back to Australia, we turned vegetarian.It was only 4 months ago we turned full vegan after watching a couple of provoking documentaries and haven't looked back. 
In relation to our food, developing the rich, full flavoured broths was and is quite challenging but after a lot of trial and error, we stuck with our Shiitake Mushroom broth, Spicy Kimchi and Faux Chicken.
I'm an electrician by trade but have always had a massive passion for food and flavours. The change in job sectors definitely has been challenging but it's allowing me to really enjoy life while loving what I do, making people happy through ramen!
We are really happy with the response from the public and more so the vegan community around bris and and the Gold Coast! We are really enjoying working at Miami Matketta as well as Bine Beer Bar(on Tuesdays) but are hoping to one day open our own Ramen and tap beer bar! But for now, let the good times roll ✌️🍜✌️"

I've also heard that all Vegans smoke weed, we don't eat pizza, we don't take baths, we don't wear weave, we only like Rasta men, we don't watch tv, 🙄 I can go on and onnnnnnnn.

🔑You will probably see that most options contain more carbohydrates or fats than non-vegan proteinsources, which makes them more caloriedense. A calorie deficit + adequate protein is going to be more difficult for you.
. ❌If your goal is fatloss - make sure you research what fits into your daily calories that will still provide you with some protein, like the beans above.

✅Rotate the same meals so mealplanning doesn't become too difficult, and make sure your cupboards are filled with some options that make your tummy happy.
