Did you know that turkeys and chickens are debeaked and often declawed as to not kill each other in the tiny cages they are forced to be in? These birds actually can go psychotic! Do you really want to continue supporting this? What if you knew this was happening to dogs? What's the difference? Society tells us there's a difference. That's it. If you really think about it, what do you believe? Am I so crazy to want to defend this guy? To be his voice? No. People tell me I am and they don't understand. I didn't understand at one time either. But once you know better, you do better. If you think I'm trying to make you feel guilty, maybe you should think about why you feel that guilt in the first place. #govegan#farmsanctuary#rescue

THE BEST IN THE WORLD.. OR PROVE ME WRONG!
I have to actually say Ugly by Nature is the best natural toothpaste ever! I have tried other brands and they never really did the job, especially from a person who don't have pearly whites. Well I feel this toothpaste really cleans my teeth well, way better than any other toothpaste. I truly love the flavors and it don't make me spit out after brushing. Meaning other toothpaste made me keep spitting. Maybe cuz the taste was bad and also has fluoride in it. I stop brushing with fluoride years ago. So I notice the spitting stop. But when I use other natural toothpaste it didn't do it for me like Ugly by Nature do. It really cleans my teeth and taste good. I actually love the color as well. And the smell is divine fresh. I only tried two flavors so far, the Wacky Watermelon & Spankin Spearmint. Both are really good. My plan is to try all. Oh and want to add, good price for this product. It's definitely a toothpaste you can trust. Trust Me!

What are some ways you detox and disconnect from the world, from day to day even if it's only for an hour or two? For me lately it's been something as simple and mundane as cooking. I think when you become conscious and aware of nearly everything that goes on around you; all your surroundings, in your every day life, it eventually transfers over to your passions and inspirations. Which for me, has become vegan/vegetarian cooking. The health benefits, honestly, aren't even of my concern right now. It's so much more than that. Its made me more conscious of my everyday life. From what I put into my body, to what I buy at the store. From how I think about things, how I do things, how I react to things... literally every aspect of my life nowadays. For me, making a new recipe daily, almost transcends this realm that makes me try new things in general. When I'm out, new places, new things, new thoughts, new patterns. New ways I can do things, new ways I can approach things; overall a new mindset. And I think ultimately whenever you elevate your consciousness in regards to one part of your life, or one thing that is your passion, eventually you elevate your consciousness to other parts of your life as well and I think that's in one way how everything becomes connected. One things transcend another, on and on again. And honestly, I know it sounds stupid and silly, but it's kind of funny how something as simple as cooking a vegan dish or cooking in general can eventually grow to impact you on a deeper level, within yourself. But, it's no different than any form of art, painting, drawing, music, reading. When you're conscious enough about it, eventually you bring that awareness to other aspects of yourself. It really just goes to show you how anything and everything in this world can change you, can open you up, can make you dive a little deeper.
A corn or flour tortilla is like a blank canvas waiting to be transformed. Sweet, salty, savory, spicy…the creative possibilities are endless! Tacos are also an easy way to use up ingredients you have left over from the week. I had a BBQ black bean, corn, & rice mixture from the day before, cilantro, and russet potatoes. I also wanted to try out my Just Mayo (vegan) and make a ranch dressing. Something about a BBQ ranch combo really hits the spot!
1 can black beans
1/3 cup frozen corn
1 cup cooked brown rice
1-2 russet potatoes
Vegan Ranch dressing (recipe below)
To begin, cook the brown rice according to the directions on package. It’s usually 1/2 cup dry rice to 1 cup water (that should make about 1 cup cooked rice). Once it's cooked, add in the canned black beans (make sure to rinse) and frozen corn. This should take about 10 minutes for everything to heat up. I added some salt to the mixture. While that’s cooling off a bit, poke holes in your russet potato and microwave for about 6 minutes (until soft). Once that’s done, heat up your corn tortillas in the toaster! I find this helps them from breaking and brings out the flavor. Now it’s time to build your taco!
I slice open the baked potato and sprinkle some salt on it. I take about ¼ of the potato and mash it onto the tortilla. Then add the brown rice & bean mixture along with sliced avocado & cilantro. Put as much or as little as you like! Top with Vegan ranch and BBQ sauce and enjoy!
¼ cup Just Mayo
¼ cup So Delicious coconut yogurt
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
½ tsp dried parsley
¼ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp dried dill
salt to taste
Shake it all up in a mason jar and voila
I wanted to share a story from my time in Banff, Alberta. I think it was the third time I had hiked that mountain. After my hike, usually to go down, I either took the ski lift or walk down the same trail. But that day, I noticed a path I had never seen before. I was hesitant but excited as well for the opportunity to use an unknown route that would bring me for the first time on the other side of the big mountain. So a little careless, I followed my gut feeling and chose to go for the adventure.
While I was walking down, the sceneries were amazing, everything was so magical. Once at the bottom of the mountain, I realized suddenly that I was lost with an empty bottle of water, no food and a low level of energy. I was in the middle of nowhere. The sun was now setting rapidly and honestly, I started to panic and became really anxious. It's so easy to indulge in fear, anxiety and sorrow when you're out of your comfort zone and you feel that you have no bearings. But in a moment of clarity, I said, enough! I decided to take back my power and turn the situation around. So I continued walking, I put my earphones on and I blasted some Lady Gaga while I was dancing trying to distract myself from my anxiety. And it actually worked! I started really enjoying myself and had the time of my life! It's one of the best memories I have of that time. This unknown path led me to the most beautiful hidden spots in Banff. If I hadn't taken a route that was risky, if I would have stayed in my comfort zone, I would've missed some of the most precious moments and places I hold dearest to my heart.
The moral of the story is that, when you have that little voice telling you to try a new opportunity, that is telling you to reach out to this person, please listen to it because it knows what's right for you. Even if it scares you or you think it's a little cavalier, your inner being knows exactly where you need to go in order to become the person you need to be. It knows the way to help you discover all the wonders life has to offer you. I promise you that the rewards from taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone are usually the greatest of all.

Every single day. 🌏 #Imagine what we could collectively accomplish to help the declining environment, the health & cruelty towards animals, the health & cruelty towards humanity, a healthier, kinder future for our children & ending world hunger... IF, we all chose a vegan life 💚 In the age of information, there are abundant resources to get informed and do our part to create change for all of the above.
