My happy space is out in nature. This is where I am at home. When I am moving my body and spending time with my family or friends. I will never take this for granted. The sun and the mountain and having such an amazing support system. Yesterday was a perfect day to end this semester's lectures and commence into exams with a geo outing from Rhodes memorial over Mowbray ridge, King's Blockhouses and to Tafelberg road. The sun in my face, packed in warm clothes, excited about the landscape around me, critical thinking and just focusing on all the things I am grateful for rather than the ones I am anxious about or wish were different. Also one of the things I really learnt in the last half year is to do the things I love and am passionate about. Honestly school is a long enough time to do subject you "have to do" and I noticed that it makes such a difference sitting in the lectures that I enjoy compared to the ones I am dragging myself through just because I thought they were something I had to do and because my family suggested that I should take them. So what I want to say is: do the things you love and get excited and passionate about things because it will make such a difference in the university and just general lifelong learning experience. #ecoactivist#natureishome#CapeTown#winter#gratefulness#positivity#sunsets#uniadvice#followyourpassions#lifelonglearning#veganhiker#nature#movement#activelife#passions#hiking#endofsemester#natureishome
We all sat down one by one, not knowing why but simply because the vibes were right and telling us something about life. We watched in silence, in unison, in awe. Theatre seating for this spectacular. ⛺️ #Havasupai 🏜 #HikeEarthTour 🌎 #HikeEarth
Fascinating Mt. FRGL! (Fragile) 😍
After our exquisite experience (mission trip) with the Alangan Tribe (Mangyans) at Kimali Village in Sablayan for 2D/2N, we had a side trip at San Jose to explore this unnamed mountain range.
We had an assault hike. There were no trails, so we made ours. One wrong step and you'll roll down on the cliffs on both sides. Precarious it was, but it's worth the intense attempt!
And we named it after our initials just for fun: Mt. FRGL (Fred, Ricky, Gwen & Lai). Don't ever dare hike it if you're fragile, you ought to be tough!
Ever grateful to Our Creator for His astonishing creation and our awesome adventure! Much gratitude to our lead mountaineer and fellow mission tripper, Fred, who brought us here. 😁
Details on my blog later. 😉
And he's off.......After going back and forth between Beldon Town, Castella and Burney Falls, Castella won!!!! He took an off shoot trail that is 1.7 miles from road to PCT trail located 1.5 miles up the road west from the Castle Craig's entrance. He's going north bound to Seiad valley or Oregon border, depending on where he is 10 days when I have my day off to get him. Happy trails my love.#pct2016#thruhiker#northerncalifornia#pct2017#sectionhiker#veganhiker#trashwalkingjesus#cleansweep .
20 miles and 2 mountains later were finally leaving the wilderness and I can't say I'm going to miss carrying my 30 pound backpack 🤷🏼♀️ Officially done with my 29th mountain of the 46 Adirondack high peaks ⛰ only 5 more for my mom though! @perseid812 #womenwhohike
