Recipe⠀
Ingredients:⠀
130g wholemeal Speltflour⠀
70g Buckwheat flour⠀
4-5 tbsp Coconut Sugar⠀
220ml plantbased milk⠀
1tsp baking powder⠀
1 tbsp Tahini⠀
a dash of salt⠀
1- 1 1/2 tbsp ground Flaxseed⠀
Some vanilla and cinnamon⠀

Mix all ingredients in a blender together.⠀
let the dough set for about 5 minutes.⠀
Heat up coconut oil in a pan on high heat, put about 2 tbsp of the dough for each pancake and bake every side until golden brown.⠀

Raw pistachio and lemon “cheesecake” @beyondthebowl_byriri 💚
Recipe⠀
Used a 26 cm (10 inch) springform cake tin⠀
INGREDIENTS⠀
For the base:⠀
1/2 cup raw pistachio⠀
1/2 cup almonds⠀
12 large pitted medjool dates, about 250 g (if they're not very soft, soak them in hot water for 10 min and discard water before using)⠀
some coconut flour (to prevent the base from sticking to the pan, alternatively use a baking sheet)⠀
For the filling:⠀
1 1/2 cups raw cashews (soaked overnight, or for 30min in hot boiling water, then drained)⠀
1 can full fat coconut milk, refrigerated overnight* (read important instruction below!)⠀
Zest of 1 lemon⠀
1/3 cup lemon juice (1 large lemon)⠀
1/3 cup coconut oil⠀
3 tbsp tbsp honey ( or 4 tbsp if you have a sweet tooth)⠀
2 tbsp orange blossom water⠀
2 tbsp rose water⠀
For garnish:⠀
2 tbsp crushed pistachio⠀
some dried rose petals⠀ ⠀
PREPARATION⠀
To make the base:⠀
1. Place all the base ingredients in a food processor and blend until the mixture sticks together when you squeeze it between your fingers.⠀
2. Get your cake pan and sprinkle coconut flour at the bottom (alternatively, use a baking sheet). Now place the base mixture in the pan and press it down into the pan evenly to form the crust and set aside.⠀
To make the filling:⠀
3. Add all filling ingredients to the food processor and blend until silky smooth. When using the coconut milk, make sure to only use the solid part, so scooping the cream off the top (*that's why refrigerating the can is essential as this will allow the solid creamy part to separate from the water, don't discard the water as you can use it in another smoothie recipe).⠀
4. Pour filling mixture evenly on top of the base then garnish with pistachio and rose petals.⠀
5. Place in the freezer for 5-6 hours. Take them out 10 min before serving.⠀

🌊Sea vegetables include a big variety of algae including Nori which you know from sushi 🍱 other sea vegetables rich in iodine are: Wakame, Dulse, Kelp, Kombu, Watercress etc.

🍱So I encourage you to get nori sheets and make your own vegan sushi once in a while or go out and eat vegan sushi. And/or get another algae. E.g. I always have a bag of Wakame because it has so much iodine, I just need 1,5g per day to hit my daily iodine and it taste really good for me in my bowl 😋

🍌Also little iodine is found in almost all whole plant-based foods (depending on the mineral content of the ground, closer to oceans the iodine levels are higher)  so eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts & seeds.

❌I don’t recommend iodine supplement because we can absorb >90% of it and often they are dosed too high and too much iodine is almost as bad as too little.

Most chocolate truffles sold today contain tons of sugar! That’s why YOU MAKE YOUR OWN using raw & clean ingredients! 🤤 This recipe is super easy, simple, delicious & requires only a few simple ingredients!

1️⃣INGREDIENTS:
-1 tbsp. pure organic vanilla extract
-2 ripe avocados
-3/4 cup raw organic unsweetened cacao powder
-1/2 tbsp. manuka honey
-Pinch of Celtic sea salt
-Ceylon cinnamon for dusting
-1/4 to 1/2 cup of filtered water (To make blending easier. Start slow & add more if necessary!)
2️⃣TO MAKE:
-Combine all ingredients in a blender & blend until fully combined & a thick truffle batter is obtained.
-Add water if you’re having trouble with blending.
-Place the truffle batter in a bowl & refrigerate for about 20 minutes to allow it to firm up & make rolling easier.
-Once firm, remove the batter from the fridge, roll the babes & then roll them in cinnamon for coating.
-Refrigerate & DEVOUR as you like! 🤤

Given my obsession with oats & all the health benefits they provide, you can imagine I was STOKED when I found out that oat milk was a thing!!!! 🙃
•5 ingredients & 5 minutes!
•Silky & creamy!
•Naturally sweet!
•Full of protein & fibre!

1️⃣INGREDIENTS:
•1 cup of gluten-free rolled oats
•3 cups of filtered water
•Pinch of sea salt
•2 tsp. manuka honey
•Ceylon cinnamon
•1 tsp. pure organic vanilla extract
2️⃣HOW TO MAKE IT?
•Add all ingredients to blender & blend for 1 minute until the mixture is well combined! It doesn’t have to be 100% because you’ll be straining!
•Pour the milk over a large mixing bowl covered with a dish towel (A nut milk leaves too much residue through).
•Transfer to a sealed container of mason jar & refrigerate! It should keep for up to 5 days!
•Shake well before drinking & do not heat (or it will become gelatinous!). It’s great for smoothies, overnight oats, baked treats or with cereal/muesli or granola OR WITH MY BLACK BEAN COOKIES!!!! Make them! Recipe on the blog babes!

Hate to be that “vegan” but seriously £15 for a life only a short life killed so we can satisfy our needs. Cooped up in small dirty conditions. This will be my 4th Christmas not eating a corpse. Yes I was once that person who used to make sure I had a turkey for that “special” day. But then I realised how Can I love animals yet eat them? Y’all know how much I ❤️ my squash! And y’all also know how I can’t go a day without cinnamon! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I PUT THE TWO TOGETHER: PERFECTION! 🤗

1️⃣INGREDIENTS:
-1 butternut squash, cut into wedges
-1.5 tsp. Ceylon cinnamon
-A punch of cayenne pepper
-2 tbsp. coconut vinegar
-1 tsp. onion powder
-Sea salt + black pepper
-Coconut oil cooking spray
2️⃣TO MAKE:
-Cut your butternut squash up.
-Preheat your oven to 400F & line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-Season your butternut stash in a large mixing bowl & toss to coat.
-Place the wedges on the baking sheet & bake for 20 minutes, then flip & bake again for 20 minutes.
-Broil on high for 5 minutes to get them crispy & charred! -DEVOUR! 🤤

Worldwide, cows drink 45 billion gallons of water and eat 135 billion pounds of food each day. Hence the cows consume 6-9 times more than humans. Also, did you know that 2,500 gallons of water are needed to produce 1 pound of beef. 
Animal agriculture is responsible for up to 91% of Amazon destruction and 1-2 acres of rainforest are cleared every second. The leading causes of rainforest destruction are livestock and feedcrops. Animal agriculture is also the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution, and habitat destruction. Livestock operations on land have created more than 500 nitrogen flooded deadzones around the world in our oceans. For you to understand how inefficient animal agriculture is 1.5 acres can produce 37,000 pounds of plant-based food, 1.5 acres can produce 375 pounds of beef....
70 billion farmed animals are reared annually worldwide. No wonder we need to kill the rainforest grow crops fertilize and destroy our soil and oceans. More than 6 million animals are killed for food every hour.

Which one are you? 
I'm sure a lot of people have their two cents on this. This is just my opinion and how I interpret my veganism. I definitely don't want to start any infighting, there's no shortage of people already attacking vegans.
But after I put up my recent post about chips, a few people asked why I said palm oil isn't vegan so I thought I'd cover a few things. .
Eating plant based is precisely that: eating only plant based food.
I and many others believe that being vegan is a lifestyle that doesn't end on your plate. 
It means making other choices to avoid the suffering or killing of animals. For example (but not limited to):
.
Not buying leather, wool, or any other clothing that requires taking something from animals. .
Not buying products that contain palm oil, as the production of palm oil is the major cause of deforestation in many areas of great animal abundance and diversity, and results in the loss of many animal lives (rare ones too!)
.
Not using cosmetics that contain animal products or were tested on animals.
.
Not buying pets from breeders but adopting the many that are abandoned in animal shelters and waiting to be put down.
.
Not buying honey; bees are robbed of their food source and the selective breeding to produce more honey results in less genetic diversity and is a cause of mass die off.
.
As I said this isn't everything and part of being vegan is doing our best to figure out steps we can take to prevent animal death and suffering. .
 I want to say I support anyone practicing veganism in anyway they interpret it, I just wanted to share some thoughts to consider for anyone starting out. None of us will be able to do this 100% perfectly all the time. Sometimes we have no idea that something contains an animal product! And sometimes there's no other option; such as a life saving medicine. 
So I hope this was helpful to someone. I wish you all the best on the journey you're taking.

Ok, so I have a serious obsession with the smoked tofu @copperbranch & it was about time I tried to replicate it myself! I have to say, I did a pretty good job!
•It’s super crispy on the outside, just the right amount of sweet & baked to perfection! 👌🏻😋
•I used sprouted organic tofu to boost the nutrient content & provide a digestive boost!
•To reduce sodium content, I used @nakedcoconuts coconut aminos, which also contains tons of essential amino acids!

1️⃣INGREDIENTS:
-1 package of extra-firm sprouted organic tofu
-2 tbsp. @nakedcoconuts coconut aminos
-1 tbsp. arrowroot starch
-1/2 tbsp. Sriracha
-1 tsp. ground ginger
-3/4 tsp. minced onion
-Celtic sea salt + black pepper
2️⃣TO MAKE:
-Preheat your oven to 400F & line a baking sheet with parchment.
Remove the tofu from the package & drain any excess moisture/water by patting it down with a dish towel or a few layered paper towels. The tofu should be dry & firm before you cut through it.
-Cut the tofu into cubes.
-Season the tofu in a medium mixing bowl & toss to coat it in the seasoning.
-Place the cubes in the baking sheet & bake for 20 minutes, then flip & bake again for 10-15 minutes until the tofu is crispy & browned!
-DEVOUR! 🤤😋
