"The surest way to lose your self-worth is by trying to find it through the eyes of others" 💞 .
I think everyone wants to be liked or accepted in one way or another but this can lead to changing who you are, your values and what you believe in.
Don't look for reassurance. When I left home at 21 for basic training it allowed me to make decisions on my own. What's best for me, not for people around me.
Truly finding your self, you realize you don't need people's approval. You become strong and you attract the people around you that are meant to be there. Your vibe attracts your tribe 😘👌🏼

I think my puppy Ellie was hoping to get a bite of my dinner tonight!!🐶 New favorite sandwich recipe that I got from @bonnyrebecca's YouTube channel: just tofu marinated in tamari (or soy sauce) and garlic, and then coated with sesame seeds. Then put on multigrain bread with guac, tomatoes, cucumber and spinach 🥒🍅🥑 so yumm
It's a scandal so significant, it already has it's own Wikipedia page. According to ABC News, the eggs were produced in Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. They have since reached Austria, Britain, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and Hong Kong.
Fipronil, if ingested in significant quantities, is moderately toxic and can cause organ damage in humans. Symptoms of Fipronil ingestion include sweating, nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, dizziness, agitation, weakness, and tonic-clonic seizures. In small doses poisoning has little effect.
Dutch authorities were alerted by an anonymous source in November 2016 that fipronil was being used in poultry farms, but failed to communicate the findings. In July and August 2017, millions of chicken eggs were blocked from sale or withdrawn from the market in various countries after elevated levels of fipronil were discovered by the Dutch food and product safety board. About 180 Dutch farms were temporarily shut down. It is estimated that more than 700,000 bad eggs have entered the UK, and Germany just pulled the 28 million possibly contaminated eggs off supermarket shelves.
Because the use of Fipronil is illegal in the production of food for human consumption in Europe, a criminal investigation has been initiated. The scandal has caused major political fallout, with neighbors Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany arguing over who is to blame, and who knew what and when. Poultry farmers have been blaming the chemical industry for compromising their business and exposing consumers to danger.
RAINBOW WRAPS WITH OIL FREE AUBERGINE / SALATA ASWAD DIP (👇RECIPE BELOW) 🌿🍆🌈🥕🍅🍊. .
Hi everyone, I had 2 crisp spring greens 🌿filled with cooked tri-colour quinoa dressed with a big squeeze of orange 🍊 . 1/2 a sliced avocado 🥑, 6 chopped plum tomatoes 🍅 , a big handful of shredded red cabbage and 1 sliced carrot 🥕 rolled into burrito style wraps 😋. Finished off with Salata Aswad which means Aubergine Salad in Arabic. This is an oil free version of the classic South Sudanese 🇸🇸 dish. Which is similar to #babaganush but with tomato + peanut butter.
Yes, it's 100% dairy free ✅ and 100% accidentally vegan. I ran out of some of the traditional ingredients and replaced them with what I had . SO I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL SALATA ASWAD. .
BUT it tastes just as good 😊.
Recipe 👇: INGREDIENTS -
1 baked aubergine (peeled and deseeded) 2-3 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp tomato purée
1 garlic clove,chopped
1/2 tsp cumin
Salt to taste
Vinegar to taste (around 2-3 tbsp)
Lots of water (6-8 tbsp)
1️⃣. Place aubergine, peanut butter and garlic into a food processor. Add 1-2 tbsp of water and blend for 1-2 minutes .
2️⃣. Add tomato purée onto a pan on a high heat stir for 30 seconds. Then add 1-2 tbsp of water lower the heat to medium and stir for another 1-2 minutes. 3️⃣. Once thickened, place the aubergine mixture onto the pan and stir to combine the two mixtures. Add 1-2 tbsp of water and vinegar. Turn down the heat to low, add cumin + salt continue to stir and cook for 3-5 minutes.
4️⃣. Once the mixture has thickened take it off the heat. Leave to cool.
5️⃣. Serve with bread, salad 🥗 or alongside a main dish with rice. I also eat it with kisra or injera (sour pancake textured flatbread) 👌.
Firstly soz for my rusty bath, my jungle house is falling apart 🌱🌻 Secondly, its story time ✔️
So when I was little I was a bit of a strange kid, I didn't have many friends cos I moved around a lot & used to love playing outside and would befriend animals, beetles, bugs & trees ect 😂. My grandma had a beach house down at Rye in Victoria and I fell in L😍VE with crabs 🦀 I was probably about 3 or 4. All I wanted to do was go to the beach, find my friends the crabs and play with them all day long. I would sing them songs, let them crawl across my hands, I just thought they were the bee's knees. Fast forward a few weeks to the fish and chip shop & im all like WHAT THE FUCK why are people eating my friends???!!! You see crabs to me equalled best friends on earth. My best friends lived in the sea so all sea creatures were a huge no go cos I'm not eating my friends and I'm not eating my friends friends. To this day I haven't eaten anything that comes from the sea. 🦐🦈🦑🦀🐠
So this leads me to my point. Majority of people don't consider sea life when they think of animal cruelty or exploitation. They might be vegetarian but still 'eat sea food' or they may care about cruelty to domesticated animals yet go fishing on the weekends. People don't see sea creatures in th same way they sea a dog or baby pig but that needs to change. People believe that sea life don't feel pain but that simply is not true. Fish, including crustaceans can learn to avoid painful stimuli. Fish have a highly advanced nervous system much like ourselves and crustaceans fulfil many human criteria to be able to experience pain. But for some reason are constantly looked over when it comes to animal welfare and ethics. Fishing cannot be considered a non-cruel sport anymore. Boiling lobsters & crabs alive is a matter of animal welfare. It sounds so cliche but just think of what you are doing when you are doing it. Think how important your life is to you, it's the greatest gift you will ever have - don't take that gift away from anything else for your enjoyment. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Have you ever met a person

you weren't attracted to
but then they talk
and with every word
and every laugh
they become more beautiful

there was ever a moment
you didn't think they were? //
