#Repost @ugly_by_nature Once upon a time, the word #vegan was a bit of culinary joke, associated with nut roast, lentil curry and a bad case of wind. But now vegan is one of the most appealing #foodtrends and, importantly, it is also becoming #delicious .
It has helped the vegan cause that a succession of #globalissues have plagued #animal and #fishproduction , such as #birdflu , #madcowdisease , #cancer links with cured #meats and links between some #animalfats and #heartdisease . Not to mention concerns over everything from #foiegras production and the cruelty of intensive #factoryfarming , to excessive #hormone use in feed and #overfishing .
#Australia is the third fastest growing market in the world for vegan foods, with the value of vegan-labelled food mushrooming from $135.9m in 2015 to $153m in 2016, according to research by Euromonitors International. This has been driven in a large part by the non-dairy category, which includes #soy , #coconut and #nutmilk .
It is #Berlin , however, that is considered the vegan capital of Europe. The city boasts 60 #veganrestaurants , which serve the 80,000 vegans living there – 10 per cent of Germany’s #veganpopulation . Hold the bratwurst sausage.
the most delicious and badass smoothie I've ever made!! (haha I pretty much say that every time I make anything) 😜 just means I'm enjoying experience more and more and expanding that satisfaction and gratitude 🙏🏼 this beautiful fruity beverage is 2 frozen bananas, 1 TSP @navitasnaturals #superfruit powder, about 2 TBSP of freshly juiced ginger, cranberries, carrot and beet, and the rest is water until I found the right consistency for me ❤️ #happythanksgiving and remember to #KeepTurkeyOffYourPlate 🦃
ALL living creatures desire and deserve love and compassion, and why eat any animal products when it's becoming blatantly obvious by the #veganpopulation that when you #GoVegan , you #THRIVE and transform into gods and goddesses and healthy sexy glowing warriors!! 💪🏼
🎉 U.S. Vegan Population Doubles in Only Two Years 🎉According to a new Harris Interactive study commissioned by the Vegetarian Resource Group, the number of vegans in the United States has doubled since 2009 to 2.5% of the population. An amazing 7.5 million U.S. citizens now eat vegan diets that do not include any animal products – no meat, poultry, fish, dairy or eggs. Close to 16 million, or 5%, identify as vegetarian, never eating meat, poultry or fish. #vegansofig
