My answer to the meat & cheese platters typically served over the holiday season, a bunch of my favorite vegan snacks! And I'm using this platter of tasty treats to contribute to @heathernicholds' #whyvegan project and vegan love fest, where she asks people why they love being vegan. Simple:
💚No animals suffering on my behalf.
💚I get to enjoy a lifestyle that is in alignment with being an animal lover.
💚Animal products are completely unnecessary for human health. If you want more information on this, leave a comment and I'll point you to some resources.
💚Eating an endless array of yummy plant food!
So tell me, what do you love about being vegan?
#ToastTuesday ! Toppings include: hummus, avo chunks, cherry tomatoes, olives, Thai basil microgreens, salt & pepper.
(I know I'm not fooling anyone into thinking I only eat toast on Tuesdays 😄)
You know what I really like? When someone, who is dear to me, calls me. Out of the blue. Nothing scheduled, no: I’ll call you later today. Just like that. Just to ask if a problem from a week ago has worked itself out. To let me know, that he or she is thinking of me. Wanting to know how I feel. Talking a little about what is going on in their life. It doesn’t have to be a two hour call. The little things matter. To me, they do.
I don’t know if it’s just me, or if you also feel that the new media, as much as it gives you the capability to connect, also takes something away. Like simply walking to your friends house, ringing the doorbell and checking out if your friend is equally bored. Or calling your next door friend every evening just to talk about what to wear to school the next day 💁🏻♀️ sometimes, I miss that.
Usually, when I’m done with work, while fumbling with the keys to unlock my bicycle lock, I get the urge to call someone. Somehow, I often end up not calling anyone. Because I think I might disturb someone or worry that the call would take ages, which would lead to having a super late dinner, which then leads going to bed late and so on. You get the idea.
Who knows, maybe next time, I’ll stop thinking and just dial a number.
Have a great Friday 💕

100% Vegan Burgers from The Vurger Co’s pop-up in Spitafields market! Tried the ’Auburger’ with aubergine & chickpea patty and caramelised red onions and the ’MLT’ with sundried tomatoes and walnut pesto. The brioche bun was beyond 👌🏼🌱🍔
Dinner with a view. 🐷📷 Cannot express my love for the vegan pizzas at @pizzaexpress enough. They are just 🤤🤤🤤.
