"As soon as this is over we'll go home
To plant the seeds of justice in our bones
To watch the children growing and see the women sewing
There'll be laughter when the bells of freedom ring"
— My Fathers Gun, Elton John (1970)

Decided to step out for a while before my company joins me and such an interesting meal it was. One of the things I’ve always wanted to do but just couldn’t brave myself up for was eat a meal all by myself at a restaurant . (I know, it’s silly but it’s real) 25 years of existence and how exciting that I had to do it in a different country altogether :D started off as a 5 minute walk through the city centre without maps and went in to a 3 and a half minute conversation with the lady taking the order, just to try and figure out if fried spring rolls were more popular or fresh Vietnamese spring roll. After nodding vigorously to my question she left to get me both of them! :D not complaining! Was a great meal indeed!
This has to be one of my favourite meals since coming to Shenzhen 😍We went to Lu Patisserie in OCT Loft (an artsy area full of studios and nice places to eat and drink). Lu Patisserie is an adorable French cafe tucked away behind all sorts of foliage, with butterflies and birds fluttering around! I got the avocado and veggie wrap (it had pickles and I was super pleased), with fried potatoes that had loads of rosemary 😻This plus a black coffee = a perfect sunny afternoon.
Keeping it cozy and classy in my new blue dress on day 3 of the vegan food fest on BKK, which is also the rehersal for Royal funeral precession, so I'm also keeping it modest and muted. This is my fourth trip to Thailand since the beloved King's demise last October and I must say even though it is a sad time for this country, there's something oddly comforting when an entire country is dressed modestly and in black. Less visual noise and more sense of oneness. Also I can't seem to keep my eyes open today and find that kinda funny 🤓 #thailand#bangkok#vegantraveller#vegantravel#bangkokvegan
Last night's dinner at the renowned Blue Elephant was disappointing, but disappointment is a part of life so I will share this for sake of completeness of my vegan food journal for Bangkok. I went here based on the hotel conceirge's recommendation - I'd dined there 10 years before so thought to revisit even though I was pretty sure the recommendation was an automatic one and he wasn't listening to what I really wanted (special menu for the Vegetarian Festival at an elegant restaurant). I had the Thai dumplings and the yellow curry, both of which were supposed to come with sweet potatoes. I found the Thai dumplings a bit bland but with enough sauce they were ok (not great). The yellow curry was very bland, unfortunately, and packed with potatoes...not sweet potatoes, just plain old white potatoes, which with white rice (I had ordered brown but got white) is really starchy and not at all satifying. Im guessing that is why the dumplings were also bland. When I asked about the potatoes, I was told these were sweet potatoes. I told the waiter I have never seen a white bland sweet potato in my life and he just smiled and said there are two kinds of sweet potatoes. If I wanted so many plain white potatoes I would have gone to an Irish pub! Oh well, not that it was disgusting by any means, I ate everything all up, but just was super disappointing as I only have three dinners while I'm here and I wasted precious time and tummy space on bland potatoes. Lesson: I should have trusted my gut and asked the conceirge for another recommendation! #ohwell#trustyourgut#vegantraveller#vegantravel#eatvegan#vegan#vegansofinstagram#vegansofig#vegansofinsta#potatoes
Lunch yesterday after the oodles of noodles was at the Bonita Cafe. The owners are Japanese, so the menu had a twang of Japanese cuisine - there was a Japnese curry that was very tempting but being the good American that I am (haha) I got the Teriyaki Burger. It came with a cashew mayo that went so well with the tangy teriyaki sauce! And the potatoes...ahhhh. So good. They didn't have the vegan cheesecake, so I had a blueberry muffin for dessert. There is this feeling you get when you're at a vegan restaurant, all defenses come down and you can be at total peace knowing you can eat anything on the menu. I felt total peace at the Bonita, and enjoyed my burger crossed legged on a cozy overstuffed sofa without a care in the world. For all the happy people in Bangkok indeed! #vegantraveller#vegantravel#eatvegan#vegan#vegansofinstagram#vegansofig#vegansofinsta#vegancafe#bangkokvegan#happypeople
So many people ask me about the kind of money they can make doing what you do.
I always reply with the same thing my sponsor told me...that completely depends on YOU.
This is an entrepreneurial business and what you put into it in terms of personal development, consistency, learning, time, and effort...
Along with what you give back to others in terms of value, consistency, inspiration, and a genuine concern for their success is in direct relation to the results you will get out of it.
So then the question becomes, what ARE you willing to put into your business, your future?
How much do you care about giving back to others, to helping others succeed?
There are many, many examples just like the two above in this company. It’s just a matter of leveraging the system.
It simply takes a decision...
Are you ready to change your life today?
