Lunch was amazing!!! Thai curry and pad Thai on the highest spice level with tofu!! Today’s lunch is a true #vegan win. Not long ago I could order both and these and FINISH both of these. Today I only finished my rice and half the curry and had only a few bites of pad Thai.
Leftovers for dinner FTW!!! OH and I asked my server via a language app is the green curry paste was made with fish sauce to be sure this was a true vegan curry!! #veganmeal#veganlunch#veganthai#veganwin

After not having pasta for 2 weeks (not sfv on resort) I was absolutely thrilled to get not only pasta but something I hardly ever have now I'm vegan cos you hardly ever get it - TORTELLINI! It was absolutely insanely delicious - one of the nicest vegan things I've ever had let alone on a flight! It was like a pumpkin filling with a pesto drizzle too😋👌 delicious! Hubby and I had also been discussing how much we missed #hummus so we were delighted to get some with this meal too which was also epic! The snack meal on this flight was a gorgeous sandwich with a kind of curried tofu (which I'll be recreating & sharing soon as it was lush!) AND an absolutely yummy cake which reminded me of Mr Kiplings country slices which I used to love! It was so moist (sorry but it was😅) and bloody hell it was yummy😛 especially after no cake for 2 weeks! What a treat! Hands down the best food I've ever had on a flight! Amazing! 👏👏💚✈😋
I loved the wee #vegantrademark butters too and little soy creamer sachets😍
If you're flying with Emirates (lucky buggers) to select the #veganmeal option it's #strictvegetarian that it's listed as💚
The pyramid now encourages citizens to completely eliminate most red and processed meats, putting them in the same category as candy, soda, and chips clearly following the Harvard study that found the link between these foods and cardiovascular disease, stroke, and heart disease. It sadly still includes fish and steak whose nutritional value can be obtained from seed and plant sources but this is definitely a move in the right direction.
In the U.S., better state recommendations for a healthy diet are likely still interminably distant and there has been strong financial motive for driving the consumption of animal based foods since at least the first World War.
During this time, the government invested heavily in the industry of canned milk which could be easily transported. With profits in mind, this leaning towards dairy became cemented in the American culture with milk "education" campaigns burrowing into public schools.
People who are averse to the plant-based diet due to the perceived higher costs should know that the actual cost of both meat and dairy is not truly represented in the price tags they see as the the government spends $38 billion annually on subsidies for these industries that bring down cost. Subsidies on fruits and vegetables industries are in stark contrast at $1.5 billion.
It may still be leaps away before the U.S. starts making recommendations based less on its corporate ties and more out of public concern but with increased awareness about the health risks of animal-based diets, the people should be able to make more conscious choices.
