🌟WHERE TO GET IRON AS A VEGAN🌟
🎗I have been asked a lot by friends/family/in public about Vegan IRON sources. I always see them coming in my way and smile a little bit before they ask because I've been passionate to tell them the answers! You don't need iron from dead tissues 😎
🌴Iron is generally misunderstood as a nutrient/element from the periodic table 😂 In fact, it's a mineral found in our planet and is essentially needed for your red blood cells to transport mainly oxygen and other vital elements within your body, that keeps you alive 😋
🥗 Obviously, variety is the key to a succesful vegan diet and not only will you thank yourself in the future but you will physically be stronger in your old time. You should not be worried either because iron doesn't have to be a problem in a vegan/plant-based diet.
⚡It's not how much iron you consume, but how well you absorb it. Non-heme iron can be absorbed in your body by various ways!
-The less you consume food the better it is absorbed
-Multivitamins are convenient as Vitamin C is readily added and this increases iron absorbance state
-avoid caffeines as they contain "iron inhibitors"
-you may avoid spinach as an iron source because it contains oxalates which blocks absorption. However researchers seem to less likely approve this case.

Stir Fry that's mostly all veggies: half cube of tofu tossed in milled flax seed, garlic powder, cumin, salt and paprika then lightly fried. In another pan saute in vegetable broth: peas, garlic squash, mushrooms season to taste as half a cup of cooked brown rice tofu and top with a light vegan bbq drizzle.
Left or right? Savory or sweet? The left one is a pumpernickel (I have no idea how to call it in English 😂, it's a heavy, dark rye bread) with avo, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and parsley. The sweet one is with cashew butter, figs and dried flowers 🌺 I ate both of them of course 😜😋

Savoury tofu beet spinach quiche by @thenutriplanet 💚
Crust: 45g (1.6oz, 2 tbsps. + 1 tsp.) peanut butter. ¼ tsp. Himalayan salt. 20g (0.7oz, 3 tbsps. + 1 tsp.) oat bran. 20g (0.7oz, 2 tbsps.) raw buckwheat flour.
Filling: 270g (9.5oz) of hard tofu. ¼-½ tsp. Himalayan salt. ¼ tsp. black salt. Black pepper to taste. ½ tbsp. dried oregano. ½ tsp. onion powder. ½ tsp. garlic powder. ½ cup (120ml) water. 1 level tbsp. psyllium husk. 1 raw beet, finely grated. 1 big carrot, grated. 2 tbsps. chopped fresh rosemary. 1 tsp. soy sauce. 2 cups fresh spinach.
First, using spoon and your hands, mix together the crust ingredients. Next, press the crust batter into 6” (15 cm) or 6.3” (16 cm) spring form cake tin and bake at 180°C (355°F) for 10 minutes. Let cool.
While the crust is baking, steam the spinach or other leafy greens (chard, kale, turnip greens, collard greens). Also, sauté carrot and rosemary: add 1 tbsp. of water and 1 tsp. of soy sauce into a saucepan. When it starts to sizzle, add coarsely grated carrot and chopped fresh rosemary. Sauté for 3 minutes, adding water if necessary.
Process all filling ingredients (except beet, carrot, rosemary, soy sauce and spinach) into a batter. Then, mix in finely grated raw beet. Top the crust with a layer of sautéed carrot and rosemary (drain any excess water). Next, add steamed and drained spinach.
Spread the tofu-beet mixture on top of spinach. Finally, sprinkle some coarsely grated raw carrot and beet on top on the quiche. Bake at 180°C (355°F) for 55 minutes. Let cool before slicing.

Apple Crisp Oats with shredded Carrot. I have so many from the garden; they add an amazing flavor and aroma to my oats. So BAM! they went in the pot :) .

Nothing beats fresh dug turmeric and ginger. These from Roots Farm at the @aquidneckgrowers farmers market💕. Fresh turmeric tastes milder, more like a carrot has a pleasant crisper texture than when it is aged. Add it to smoothies, juice it, chop it up and add to vegetable dishes etc.Fresh ginger is crisp, easy to slices, almost juicy, and beautifully potent and delicious. I wait all year for these babies! 🔹 14 fl. oz. Coconut Cold Brew Coffee [Dairy-free]
🔸 1/2 frozen banana, cut into pieces
🔹 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other nut milk of choice)
🔸 1 tbsp Tahini
🔹 1 tbsp Hemp protein powder
🔸 Dairy-free cacao nibs
1. In a blender, Vitamix or NutriBullet, blend coffee, banana, almond milk, tahini and hemp until well combined. Add a little extra almond milk if mixture becomes too thick to blend.
2. Pour mixture evenly into popsicle molds. Sprinkle bottoms with cacao nibs.
3. Let freeze for 15 minutes before placing in popsicle sticks. Freeze overnight or for at least 6 hours before enjoying.
