Book: How Not to Die by Dr. Michael Greger; the whole book is explaining in depth using hundreds of accountable sources and medical journals on how a plant based diets help prevent and reverse diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. The book also goes into how to adapt to a plant based diet, why you should, and what you need to know through it all. There is also a very extensive section at the end that discusesse all your vitamins and minerals, how to obtain all of them from food, the best way to cook them and buy them (i.e. raw, frozen, organic, not, etc). -
As a striving chiropractor, I want to be able to completely help my patients and be able to give them the best knowledge, and have the knowledge, for them and to make them as healthy and happy as i can as a doctor. To be able to ensure them that I am going to be working on them in all aspects of health, not just adjustments but nutritionally as well. That is how you achieve results and optimum health. It’s unfortunate because not all practitioners see it that way. They want to push pills and have you keep coming back so they can pay bills. Not saying that all doctors are that way, but I’m America, it’s high probability that those are the doctors you will meet. To treat someone, you have to treat their current symptoms AND the underlying cause and many times it is a result to bad nutrition and diet. 🤷🏻♀️ Food for Thought 💭🌱
I was delightfully surprised when I got served some delicious white cake with lots of blueberries (veganized) from @julie31688 from a recipe that she found online. See, yesterday I got a super deal at my local produce auction - three BIG containers of blueberries (1 pint each) for only $5 !! 😊😋😄
This was inspired by @vegan_emily it's oatmeal with bananas, strawberries, flax seeds, wheat germ, hemp seeds, peanut butter and carob powder. It tastes like a peanut butter chocolate oatmeal cookie with bananas hahaha. Also, fun fact if you didn’t know, elephants are herbivores 🌱
I shared a photo of these Spicy Cauliflower Bites 🌶 that I made in collaboration with @ottos_cassava_flour a few days ago, and now here's a full recipe video 😊 they are SO good and I hope you guys make them! I included the written instructions in this post too if you want to screenshot :)
•1 cup of @ottos_cassava_flour .
•1 whole cauliflower
•1/2 cup of water
•1/2 cup of non-dairy milk
•1 teaspoon of paprika
•2 teaspoons of garlic powder
•2 teaspoons of onion powder
•Salt & black pepper to taste
•Hot sauce of your choice to taste
1. Preheat the oven to 450 Fahrenheit.
2. Chop the cauliflower into bite sized florets.
3. In a mixing bowl, add all of the dry ingredients.
4. Next add the wet ingredients and whisk together. If the batter is too dry, add more liquid until you get a creamy consistency, like pancake batter.
5. Prepare a tray with parchment paper.
6. Little by little, put the chunks of cauliflower into the batter, coat them completely, then transfer them to the parchment paper.
7. Repeat until all of the cauliflower and batter is used up.
8. Put this in the oven for 20 minutes.
9. Remove from the oven, put the cauliflower bites into a bowl, and toss with hot sauce of your choice.
10. Once they are coated, put them back on the parchment paper, and into the oven for an additional 20 minutes.
11. Enjoy! Serve with ranch, tahini, or a sauce of your choice. 🌱
Blueberry smoothie and my bonsai tree 🌳
This smoothie includes: frozen bananas 🍌, frozen blueberries, medjool dates from @ndmedjooldates, hemp seeds, flax seeds, an ambrosia apple 🍎and vanilla almond milk 🥛
I tried to make an apple crumble thing but it ended up more like a super thick baked oatmeal which is okay with me! I didn't measure anything but all I did was peel and chop 10 apples and put that in a baking dish with some ground flax seeds, peanut butter, 2 chopped bananas, brown sugar, quick oats, chopped peanuts, cinnamon, and vanilla almond milk. I mixed everything together and put it in the oven for 40 mins, and it turned out perfect. The apples got soft and the bananas caramelized and it was super good, I topped it with tahini and coconut nectar 🐿
🌏Also don't forget how diet affect the environment as well. Corporation need to change but so do we. No need to wait for them to change. #bethechange The amount of pollution that animal agriculture is causing is appalling and scary. 🌍🐮🐷🐔🐣
Raising animalsfor food requires massive amounts of land, food, energy, and water and causes immense animal suffering. A staggering 51 percent or more of global greenhouse-gas emissions are caused by animal agriculture, according to a report published by the Worldwatch Institute.

Have you ever seen the documentary #Vegucated ? It made me go vegan for quite a while. Though I was a quasi vegetarian beforehand, the documentary enlightened me to cut out most cow products, with the exception of Greek Yogurt and the odd portions of cheese here and there. Other than that, the only animal products I eat now are eggs. That said, I thought I’d share this vegetarian protein chart with you guys. #Knowledgeispower 🙌 #vegetariandiet#vegetarianprotein#eatclean#mom#foodie#ittastesgoodipromise

Repost @erinstanczyk✨ It’s not what you eat, it’s what you absorb!✨
✨This is one reason why eating raw foods is so important! Raw, whole, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds in their natural state contain enzymes. When food is heated and/or processed, those enzymes are lost. Enzymes are what helps make the food we eat digestible to our bodies and allow our cells to utilize the nutrients in foods. If all we’re eating is processed, packaged, junk foods, (or even over-cooked foods!), our bodies are not receiving the necessary enzymes to turn our food into quality FUEL! As Darin Olien @superlifeliving says in his book, SuperLife, you can think of it like this, you’re about to build a house, and you go out and get all of the necessary tools and materials and bring them to the build site, but you’ve forgotten to hire the workers to actually BUILD the house! Cooked foods are not evil, AT ALL, however, it wouldn’t hurt any one of us to eat at least one fully raw meal a day! A big plate of fruit works, a smoothie is even easier, or how bout my personal favorite, a big, colorful, rainbow salad?! Eat The Rainbow, Nourish Your Cells! This has been another installment of #EatMoveRestYourBest 🌈🥗🍓🍊🍋🥝🍇 #eattherainbow#plantpower#healthiswealth
