GoFundMe in the bio. This is Yimmy's story
This past Wednesday we took our cat Yimmy to the vet to to find out what our options are, regarding the growthson her mammary glands. This is the second vet we have consulted with.
He made it very clear that the entire mammary chain on her left side needs to removed. If the growth continue to grow, eventually the skin will rupture and surgery will not be possible, at which point she will have to be euthanized.
Such a large and complex surgery requires a veterinary surgeon who specializes in this procedure.
Right now Yimmy is a happy and other wise healthy cat. At 8 years old, she is still as loving and playful as the day I brought her home to Chris when we were first dating.
Myself and Chris live with my mother who is 71 and in poor health and is not allowed to live alone. Unfortunately both of us our currently unemployed.
At this time the estimated cost of Yimmy's surgery is set at upwards of $3,000.
Please keep us and her in your thoughts.

Has anyone seen this with a cat before? He's had these scabs that flake off and return on his mouth. He doesn't seem bothered by them. Vet ran some tests and ruled out bacterial infection. She gave me some Mal-A-Ket wipes thinking it could be feline acne. They are hard to use because they taste vile and of course he licks his lips. Just curious if anyone has had a similar experience! #felineacne#pethealth#cathelp#cathealth#orientalshorthair#vetrinarymedicine
P.S. he survived the eye squish. 😉
My son's girlfriend (who is studying to be a veterinarian and works at our Vets office) texted me today with a few questions about this sweet baby. It came in and was struggling to stand, and couldn't float. She suggested it may have been attacked. Unfortunately I couldn't offer much assistance on the matter but I gave her as much advice as I could based on my own experiences with ducklings. I explained to her it was possible he was suffering from a lack of nutrition and some vitamins and a heat lamp would likely help. However, if it's neurological, it's likely it won't survive. Only a very dedicated care giver, willing to give round the clock care, could possibly have a chance at rehabilitating the poor thing. Still, it's kinda cool she text me to ask. I hope the little guy/gal makes it. I wouldn't mind giving it a good home once it's got a clean bill of health. I just really love how much she enjoys her job and much love she has for all creatures, big and small. #theserafinfarm#duckling#sickduckling#vet#animallovers#vetrinarymedicine#animalstudy
