This Police Liason Officer came up to me during my first slaughterhouse vigil. He said he had seen me crying when we stopped the first truck full of sheep. 🐏😔He said that watching me crying, it even made him emotional and that he was beginning to make the connection. I was crying because I knew what awaited those sheep inside that slaughterhouse and was frustrated that animals are still being exploited for unnecessary reasons. The Police Liason Officer was asking me a lot of questions about veganism which I was happy to answer. 🌱 He said that he is actually being drawn more and more to eating meals without animal products because "it feels like the right thing to do". This conversation was very powerful.
@savemovementscotland @animalactionscotland .
I'm usually good at turning my sadness into passion and fire but I'm finding it really hard today....I went to another Animal Save Protest at a slaughterhouse this morning and I can't stop thinking about it. It's so hard and upsetting to see them enter through those gates as beautiful sentient harmless beings into a place of absolute hell knowing they will come out of there all packaged up ready for human pleasure. I wish I'd came to my senses earlier 💔 I will fight to the grave to make up for it ❤️ #animalrights#protest#vigil#animalrightsactivism
Please support our Kurdish friends 🙏
Last sunday, an earthquake struck South and East of Kurdistan. It collapsed buildings and 550 people have been killed with thousands injured.
The Kurdish community invites you to a candle vigil to remember the Kurdish people who lost their lives during this earthquake.
In this difficult time our thoughts and prayers are with their families.

A woman attending a candle light vigil for Cheryl Myny on Nov. 16 cries as she is comforted by a friend. Myny was shot and killed by her husband inside her Marysville business Jump N Jam last Saturday.

Meat-free by 2025?
This is not just any ordinary vigil. This is inviting you to a place of unity. We are gathering to recognize through the disbelief, hopelessness, and disparity. YOU HAVE MADE IT! #keepitfuego#unity#vigil
The looks on their faces. The noises they make just before entering the slaughterhouse. These things haunt me, but they need to have their stories told. Their lives matter. Together we are making a difference. The times are changing. One day this won't be their reality. ✌🏻🐔💛
🛑CRUELTY AT ZONNEVELD DAIRY!!
Member's of #dxe lead a year long investigation into Zonneveld dairy in Layton, Ca. Zonneveld dairy is a major supplier for Land o Lakes dairy products. During DxE's investigation they found Zonneveld and land o lakes to be in violation of their own policies. This investigation uncovered extreme cases of neglect and animal cruelty. One of the calfs that was found on Zonneveld's farm was subject to severe neglect and was on the verge of death. DxE had no other choice but to remove the calf and get her to immediate veterinary care. I'm happy to say the little calf whom they named Roslynn is alive and thriving And will now have the opportunity to live a life of love and compassion. However DxE thought it only just that Roselynn be reunited with her mother. So DxE gathered a group of over 60 activist and showed up at Zonneveld on November 14, urging the farm to release Roselynn's mother. I was fortunate enough to be one of those 60 activists taking a stand against what I can only describe as one of the cruelest industries I have ever come across. Three of DxE's female activists were able to make it onto the farm property During our protest and was able to go live on FB showing the true reality of the dairy industry and the conditions these animals are forced to live in. (link to that live feed in my bio 🎥 please take the time to watch) what I witnessed and experienced at zonneveld was nothing short of heartbreaking. I would urge anyone out there reading this that uses dairy products, to educate themselves fully on what they are supporting. This industry exploits many. I and @plantprinc3ss did a peaceful vigil outside a butchers today, to remember those who lost their lives and didn't want to die. It was eventful; at one point we were having a discussion with about 6 farmers and butchers, and the owner even took it upon themselves to make a sign of their own ("this is bullshit ==>") and stand next to us. We remained peaceful and calmly discussed the issues. The owner even apologised at the end, and agreed that it is important to be able to have these discussions. We left them the white rose as a gift.
I’ve been picturing this room a lot lately. It isn’t based off anywhere real, but the space feels safe and private. This painting is about holding vigil. In reality, making the painting was my actual vigil; the time I spent in process was in honor of two grandparents passing on this year.
Love to my family.
Are you eating babies? Chickens are killed around 40 days after they are born. They've been bred to grow so large in such a short amount of time. The faster they can kill them the more they can "produce".
In three days, on the 19th of November, it will be exactly one year since that vigil evening where I accepted The Holy Eucharist of Jesus for the first time. Where I drank from that Chalice of Salvation inaugurally. Where I was confirmed into The Catholic Church with just a handful of those who knew me, surrounded by hundreds of witnesses who didn’t. It was a hopeful stay of remembrance. My parents were not aware. My family, either, for that matter. Friends at the seminary in town had no idea. Those I lived with, roommates, were unaware. It was my secrecy in sufficiency, as sufficient unto that day was the faithfulness thereof. I had regarded my Catholic side for awhile. As I’ve told fellow Catholic since, it was eight years in the making, claiming that it began when I was first invited to Mass at Belmont Abbey College. Fast-forward to every event that seemed to adjust my vision toward the High Altar, and here I was in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, tasting of Heaven and drinking of Christ’s Blood. It was remarkable.
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world” (John 6:51)
