I found these Edison records at the Trade Days last month and thought they were about the coolest things I've seen in a while. They are actual hard plastic records shaped like a tube that played on phonographs in the early 1900s. Thinkin bout starting a collection. The brass National ballot box is my new/ old fave, too. What kind of antiques are you loving right now?
This our vintage “candy tree.” It had been evolving but I think of it as a tree a high end candy store might have had in the window during the late 60s. The tree itself is is an old Kirk fiberglass one. They glow like no other white tree we have ever had. The lights are the sugary looking GE Lighted Ice on new white cords. The colors of the bulbs changed over many years of production so I keep a decent stock on hand of ones I like. We added the twinkling Star of Bethlehem lights this year. They are in a compatible, vintage cord and transformer and were an issue to put together (See my earlier post.) The garland is new, oversized plastic pearls. The ornaments have many colored plastic shapes including 60s mod shapes and 50s spinners. The glass ornaments are squiggle patterned West German and striped Polish ones which evoke old sugar candy to me. There are also foil and glass Resl Lenz, which look like bubbles and give a magical quality to the tree. The topper is West German and has the same style and feel. It was #christmasmorning in #1952 , and my sister Nancy received her first piano for Christmas. Her love for music continues, as she loves classical music, plays the piano, and has worked for the past 26 years with the Spokane Symphony as Box Office Manager over Ticketing Services in Martin Woodson Theater at the Fox.
I haven't thtifted in a while. I guess it's true what they say, the best things come to those who wait. ❤ I'm so in love with this red fur collared beauty. 1950s Styled By Swansdown Coat gifted to me last night by my handsome fella.

It’s a grey Sunday morning, I’m diffusing Holiday Joy in my @doterra diffuser while enjoying my second cup of coffee, and my husband surprised his girls with donuts. I’m as happy as my pixie elf! ⭐️ #oilylife#doterra#vintagechristmas
My husband and I ended up celebrating our own little Christmas early.. my goodness did he treat me to some lovely Christmas gifts! Two stunning books on film noir, a beautiful 1940s Corde purse, and the Storybook eyeshadow pallete, Snow White Red lipstick, and travel bag from the Besame Snow White collection! I think he is pro at picking out gifts for a vintage gal! 💋🎄✨
Its all getting a bit festive in here and can feel we're starting to wind down for a good break!
