@kotakuau has given me the perfect excuse to unleash my inner geek and whip out my Commodore 64 with a selection of retro games... now all I need are some snacks and I’m set! There’s something about these old games 🕹 that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! #kotakumate10
Apple 1 goodness. As close to the real thing as you can get and working too. This is the Briel Computers ‘Replica 1’, A clone of the Apple 1 made by Vince Briel with the permission of Steve Wozniak. It is a fully functional replica of the original computer using either a 6502 or 65c02 processor that came in a kit and allows the use of an original ASCII keyboard or PS/2 keyboard, composite video output and power from an AT power supply. Underneath the Replica 1 is an exact reproduction of the original Apple 1 board to give you an idea of the size between the two boards. The keyboard, for those playing at home is a ‘Happy Hacking Keyboard Lite 2’. Enjoy!
50 Shades of Yellowing? Busy as always but recently we rescued a large lot of almost a dozen Commodore computers including VIC-20, Commodore 16 and the infamous Commodore 64, plus so many accessories we could barely fit them all in our little cube car! This restoration lot is going to be slow and painful but worth while knowing that these machines will be all going to loving homes :)
#diy#vintagecomputing#abenteuerfpga
This is a fairly recent book release I was looking forward to. It's pretty cool so far.
I had just recently gone through Masters of Doom again, and of course the subject of this book is more for technical details of Wolfenstein 3D, but there's still interesting things that line up between the two books.
I think most any programmer interested in the tech behind Wolfenstein 3D would enjoy reading this book. The author has run a blog for a while now that covers some engines (obviously including this one) but in my opinion this is the deepest he's gone. I hope he'll finish the Doom and Quake game engine black books quickly!!
Remember back when the rumor was that Apple was going to be buying BeOS and making it the new MacOS? You probably don't 😉Here's Haiku (basically BeOS) running in Parallels. If you like meaningless tinkering in the past like I do, check it out here: https://www.haiku-os.org .
“Diana” is now the fifth and oldest addition to the Apple collection as of today!!! Scored her working for just $50! 😳😳 Very excited to share her and get her working very soon! #appleiie#apple#vintagecomputing
