so i didn't get the paint-by-number ballerina, but look what i DID get on saturday!!! @bigtopquilts gave me a big bag of zippers to play with, and then i found all this thread at a tag sale. the thread was labeled $0.10 each, but she gave me all these along with the awesome cases for $3! now i have a zipper stash AND a thread stash in MA! this makes doing Amiee's random repairs and mending a lot easier. #sewing#stashbuilding#vintagenotions
This is why I love vintage sewing machines, the memories. When I find a machine that has clearly been loved and help it find a new home, it makes my heart happy 💕.

My dad brought me my mums old sewing supplies as a present yesterday. Initial observations ... 1) clearly no one in my family has ever thrown away a button and 2) although my mum didn't sew, she had some beautiful thread! And kept a school label each from my sister and I. I might have a little cry now! @victoria_alix_fletcher #vintagenotions#vintagesewing#familyhandmedowns
Yay, my snap fasteners arrived today! Now I can finally finish the side snap closure on my summer dress. A bit late in the season, but it was surprisingly difficult to find affordable snaps around town, so I decided to buy these vintage ones online. Cheaper and prettier! Fabric, buttons and piping are also thrifted. The pattern is #Butterick6363 I like it a lot! #vintagefabric#vintagenotions#vintagesewing#b6363#40sstyledress
Hi! 👋🏻 I am listening to @chanceswithwolves radio show and digging out all my old fashion books and getting them back on the shelf! I'm beyond excited to get my sewing/design studio going again after many years! I have a 2 and 4 year old that I'm home with, but previously designed clothing. I plan to get back to that, but meanwhile I'm trying out this vintage thing! I've always had an affinity for vintage, and setting the studio back up has been a fun exploration into all the vintage sewing books, supplies and fabrics I've collected over the years. I will be sharing some of those as I come across them. I look forward to using this space to create some one-of a kind items for you. I have a few small upholstery projects lined up, and I plan to add throw pillows made of vintage fabrics to the shop. My lady Bea over there will be modeling some vintage clothing for you, and maybe even some originals eventually.🙀 Who knows! First thing's first though. These butterflies GOT to GO! 😆 What color should I hide them under?? 🚫🦋
These three beauties belonged to my great grandmother and were used for ironing from the late 1800s into the 1940s. My mother remembers that one flat iron always sat warming on the kitchen's wood-burning stove, at the ready for garment pressing. Another served as a doorstop in the summertime. Today, they make great fabric weights, and they remind us of the family's hardworking women. The number on top of each iron refers to the size. Sneak peek of some lots I'm putting together. There are 5 totally different lots, and 3 of each lot. This is the #teal#white and #gold lot. Each lot has a mixture of #modern and #vintage#trims and #lace and a box of vintage #buttons . Each lot has at least 20 yards and at least 50 #buttons
I'll be posting the lots wednesday so stay tuned!
***this may be my fave lot..but the red white and blue one is super cute too. Heck...they're all awesome!
