A cutting from a client's vine in London; fortunately the blackbirds and wood pigeons here haven't discovered this foreign berry - unlike there! These are not quite like the uva fragola I've had in Italy, which were smaller, darker, tougher skin, more jelly-like flesh, strawberrier flavour.
Réserve Domaine St-Jacques 2015
Wow this red wine is super sweet! On the nose, it does not show this level of sweetness but more freshness and a bit of spiciness. It is right between the note of Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon of the US In my opinion. Red fruits and blakc fruits exist at the same time but more raspberry, strawberry notes are shown. On the palate, it had high acidity medium body with very low tannin and very smooth texture. I felt some ripeness due to its sweetness. We chilled a bit since it was quite hot to be served(had less performance on the nose-closed) after chilling in the cold water, it had more fruitiness(red cherry, raspberry, cassis) with more freshness. It had alsi slight spiciness after airation. Unfortunately it had lack of complexity or richness and not really easy to drink at last cuz it was too sweet... (accumulated sweetness made me hard to drink without sth to grab :/) But it was amazing experience that i could taste a wine bleneded with regional grape variety- Luciekulmann and Marechalforche!
