After a year of certain circumstances inadvertently prolonging me volunteering I finally have an interview signed up tomorrow to get into patient care! After 6 months there I am able to volunteer in the psychiatric clinic! I am super excited! I've been studying over the booklet (most of it is common sense) because parts will be mentioned in our interview and I want to be prepared. Good things come to those who wait 🙌 If anyone has volunteered in patient care or has any inside information on it please tell me!
MEXICO EARTHQUAKE DAMAGES - HOW U CAN HELP?
Ajudem
e Compartilhem! 😥
Sylvia Alvariño, I thank u for all ur dedication and love! All the Mexicans count w our prayers and for sure some of our friends including me will participate.
Maine's Coastal Cleanup Week is this week! We volunteered yesterday and helped to pick up 462 pieces of trash (and probably another 200 plus if you count all of the cigarette butts 😵) which equals nearly 30 pounds of trash! We all got certificates to say we helped 🤗 Derek and I said since the beginning that we wanted to make sure we volunteered everywhere we went as much as we could not just because it's good but also to show Sam how important it is! He loved going into bushes to find trash lol also peep the awkward 🐢smile Sams got going on 😂😂
What an amazing and important discussion this evening reflecting on CLT Uprising: One Year Later @levinemuseum
Learning how we can "foster understanding, compassion, and justice in Charlotte" #breakingbread#knowCLT
Meet Lorraine and Moti! 🐶👵🏼 Lorraine and her dog Moti have been residents at a Baptistcare Retirement Village in Perth for the last year and a half ✨
“Moti is like a member of the family and finding a retirement village that allowed pets was extremely important to me. It’s great for dogs here. I can take Moti for a walk around to the local park. Two other residents also have dogs and one has a cat and they all get on well together,” says Lorraine 😃
Which cause is close to your heart
The cause Traffic awareness campaign, which i first started volunteering with VFC is the cause which is most closest to my heart because i lost one of my closest pal because of a road accident. When i see people listening to what we convey i feel happy that atleast there are few now who are safe.
The next is RTI/Tarakam - I was always interested in Government agencies curious in knowing how they work and respond to issues from the public. Also there is a void between the people and the government just because there is no one who takes interest in it but only complains of the system. I wanted to show people that there is a place for the citizens voice also in this system
I used to always believe on the complaint redressal system of the government offices and i do so even now
Meet the Paws - I have a special attraction to this cause as my childhood was with dogs around us and i always wanted one. Thanks to VFC MTP group because of whom i was able to have one more cutie pie in our life Olive (A rescued one)
People are not aware that animals have sentience and feel just as much as we do. I love being an agent of change: to reach out to animals and see them more than dinner or a pet, but as a soul deserving of respect and space. That’s the biggest thing that drives me in working with animals. I realized it when I got my first dog, Apollo. Our connection grew. He was more than a pet. He was a sensitive dog; his feelings got hurt, verbally. I could see it take its toll on him. I saw that resonate with every cow, pig, and chicken. I made the connection that there was no difference. That’s why I gave up meat. There was a direct connection between me and every other animal on the planet. I would never go back. It has had the biggest impact on me than anything else. – Devin Leader, Los Angeles

Ooh la la! On December 13, City Centre Community Centre will host a Winter En Blanc Holiday Party for seniors. The dress code is decidedly fancy - all white - so the ugly Christmas sweaters will have to stay at home. ⠀
The event will feature a delicious meal, karaoke, games, and group line dancing - all for just $5!⠀

Explore. Teach. Trust. These are all the things that we have worked hard to build alongside the community at La Casa de las Nubes. ☁🏡 If you listen carefully in this video, you can hear the kiddos singing our song, which is translated:
"Here, I listen to you.
I believe you.
I respect you.
We enter with calmness, and joy.
Here we respect La Casa de las Nubes
And we enjoy this opportunity."
Explorar. Enseñar. Confiar.
Thank you / gracias a @perpetualmoto, a past volunteer, for the beautiful video.
