Writing love notes to our partners on traditional Florentine paper is an age-old practice that never gets old (plus who can resist those pretty patterns?!). We are so grateful for the incredible people we're meeting in Tuscany and can't wait for you to meet them, too!
The Stephen Ambrose version of the Meriwether Lewis/William Clark expedition up the Missouri River and into the unmapped & largely unexplored American West. It’s a fascinating trip of discovery commissioned & ebulliently pushed forward by the 3rd president, Thomas Jefferson.
Right now I’m enjoying Lewis’s journal descriptions of the crew’s encounters with Grizzly Bears, which the Native Americans warned were exceptionally powerful & ferocious animals. The Natives, in fact, avoided them, as their arrows & weaker rifles were not strong enough to stop the savages, resulting in substantial carnage. The Voyagers quickly found out the Natives had not been much in exaggerating the beasts: “The Bear was a most tremendous looking animal, and extremely hard to kill notwithstanding the five balls through his lungs and five others in various parts he swam more than half the distance across the river to a sandbar & it was at least 20 minutes before he died; made the most tremendous roaring from the moment he was shot.” [It nearly makes me cry to imagine a beautiful beast dying like that but what a description of its monstrous powers]
About a week later, after several more run ins, Lewis wrote: “I find the curiosity of our party is pretty well satisfied with respect to this animal.” Indeed.
Hierophant from the Voyager, straight to the middle statue of Buddha under the crescent moon 🌙 is what my eyes 👀 are drawn too. Losing my Religion (what a great song that is!) is what came to me, what hierarchy is making you chew at the bit desperate to free yourself from? There is a nice paragraph in the little book that comes with this “ Like the flower which grows out of the compost, it is out of the garbage of life the storms, rifts & valleys, that you will flower” It goes on to say that converting adversity into opportunity requires honest observation of your reality with Priestess equanimity. I would stress the “your reality” part, what works for other people might not work for you. Go out somewhere quite, preferably in nature to calm wild thoughts and think about where you are in life and where you want to go. Or are you happy with your life right now and are feeling the serenity of it all 🙃 #blackcattarotreadings#voyager#tarotnerds#tarotdaily#tarotart#tarotlife#tarotlover#tarotlovers#tarotcards#tarotloversofinstagram#tarotista#tarotsolo#tarotonline#tarotaddict
