Laurie was getting cabin fever since I'd not taken him to the garden for a walk for a few days. The constant yowling to be let out was getting on my already frayed nerves and stretched senses, it's not easy recovering from food poisoning while watching your gorgeous 13 yr old feline rapidly fading to her end.
But I finally succumbed to his ear-splitting entreaties, the poor kid had no way to vent his pent up emotions...he'd been picking up on everyone's anxiety about Keesha and had had no one to play with since her health started going South a month or so ago. Plus mum left on a trip the night before and he hated seeing his fave human mattress/sofa/lounge chair leave.
He's been stress eating for two weeks, capitalizing on my sad parents' sympathy by begging for and winning treats in between meals, but I was a bit alarmed and amused to see him grazing voraciously in the garden for the first time ever. He dines on fresh lemon grass straight from the potted plant at home regularly but that's been the extent of his herbal diet preferences.
I don't know what to make of this little bakri of mine. But whatever makes him happy!
