I have a pretty active job that requires lots of walking and stairs so I don't normally struggle to get my 10,000 steps in during the week.. Studies have shown that smaller workout increments split up throughout the day are just as beneficial as one longer workout (In other words, five 5 minute workouts = one 25 minute workout). One good practice is getting up from your desk every 15 minutes and moving.. whether it's taking the long way to get to the bathroom, climbing up and down a flight of stairs, or doing some light exercises, it's important to keep moving throughout the day!! Some of my favorite do anywhere exercises include: wall sits, lunges, lateral steps, and planks.
what do you do in your work day to stay active?
But Samuel replied: "Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22
#walkitout Lord, so many times I believe that my service to you is about giving up things, about sacrificing my desires for yours. What I’ve discovered instead is that I don’t need to worry about what I need to give up or what I need to sacrifice. Instead, I simply have to obey your Word, to do what the Bible says, to obey the still, small voice of your spirit inside me. Lord, when I walk with you I forget about sacrifice. As I take steps in obedience, I don’t worry about what I have to give up. Instead, I simply find joy in discovering all you’ve had planned for me, which brings you glory and impacts the world for your good.

I am 100% OK with my kids getting annoyed with me for making them do things like this as part of their un-grounding process. Always leads to great conversation and seeds being planted that will harvest in the right season of their lives. ♥️ "Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them." ~Proverbs 13:24 ♥️#mamasaid#trainupachild#walkitout#parenting101

ME IN A HAT?? I never thought I’d see the day where I am regularly wearing a baseball cap. But I want a lot less sun on my face and this, combined with sunscreen works so, here I am.
Most things about hats annoy me so bad! The way it runs against your forehead, how makeup can get on it, how it gets all sweaty (cause I sweat yo), how it smooshes down perfectly good hair, and how (as a person with a military background), I feel compelled to take it off indoors and then everyone can see the weird line it makes on my forehead. So yeah...not a hat person.
Still, I wear this hat I bought a couple weeks ago and my Levi’s jean jacket (which was the first thing I bought after my first pay check at 16 AND which will never go out of style!) on the hour long walk to my language lessons 2x per week.
I might look like a tourist but at least my face and shoulders are safe from the sun! I even use my umbrella if the sun is really beating down.
When we’re younger we sacrifice so much just to look like people on TV or the magazines...and honestly there’s probably very little we can tell our 20yr old selves that would make us think twice, but there’s never a better time to start protecting your body than NOW!
There are so many aspects of health and while we can’t win them all, all the time, we can do little things to help....like wearing hats when you’re not a hat person ☝️☝️ *this guy*
