Can't wait until March to get back into the big country again chasing the mighty wapiti. We will be over the hill from out last trip into wapiti river hunting some new ground. After 3 years of missing out we managed to draw Lake Katherine, fingers crossed for good weather and bugling bulls. #wapiti#fiordland#huntingnz#bugle#wapitiriver

The horses getting a break while I am out helping pac out the last load of a bull that was killed the day before. It's was one of the harder pack outs I have been a part of thankfully it was just one hind quarter and the head. It's amazing the people you meet and are willing to help out just because. I had only knew Dalton for five minutes before I offered to help pack the rest of camp and meat off the mountain with him. It's cause of people like us that keeps the mountains a fulfilling place to be and meeting some cool new people.
Here's a shot we took in #idaho while on a filming mission (videos coming soon). This #rifle is a lightweight hammer, thanks to all parties involved! @proof_research @agcomposites @vortexoptics @stockys_stocks #gunporn
Congrats to my brother in law Cody on his sweet bull! Thanks for letting us tag along. Hopefully you can get lucky and draw in less than 14 years for the next one! -JRay @cohunsaker @zjw_87 #monarchmilitia
7. The path of the elk squad, in the end, was pretty much what we assumed, skirting the contour of a thick and dense ridge. While they weren't running, they weren't stopping either. Mind full of what if's and maybe's, we followed what has affectionately labeled "the bone trail". Lined with what remains of filled tags from years past, it is a testament to the consistency of the area in fourth rifle. Also, it is not dissimilar to the palace path from Temple of Doom. While a few days still remained in fourth, for now this hunt was concluded. Bed time for elk and break time for hunters. For me, it was off to work. Not bad for a weekday morning hanging with my friends in elk woods.
