The first three years of life are a glorious & mystical time in human development where the young child (0-3yo) is in what Maria Montessori called the "Unconscious Absorbent Mind" stage. This means that your child is effortlessly absorbing (without being aware) every.single.moment of the human & physical environment.
During this phase your child is learning at a rapid rate, more so than at any other time in development.
To say that the beginning of life is crucial is an understatement. So much of who we are, how we interact with the world, and how easily we will learn later in life is created - in just 36 short months.
Around 2.5-3yo the child then enters the "Conscious Absorbent Mind" phase. This is a time when the young child becomes aware of this incredible power of absorption.
Here we see Coco, 32 months, watercolor painting. It is a beautiful representation in color of the mind transitioning from the unconscious to the conscious. ♥️🎨 Aren't children and Montessori grand?!
Hey guys! I’ve got another inktober for you guys! This is of a cream soda girl! She’s super cute and I can not wait to draw her again! (Which I will). But yeah! I really like his drawing and I hope you guys do too!
Hi everyone! Some of you might know that, in addition to being a watercolor artist, I have also previously worked as an art therapist. A few years ago, I quit my job as an art therapist so that I could focus on expanding my growing watercolor business. I have loved getting to focus full-time on my watercolor business so that it could continue to grow and improve. As much as I love my business, I have also found myself missing my career as an art therapist. As a result, I recently decided to accept a job as an art therapist at a school for students who have autism. With this new role, I will continue to run my watercolor business, I will just be doing so on a slightly smaller scale. I wanted to share the news with you all and say thank you for your wonderful support as I continue to pursue both of my passions! If you have any questions about what this change means for my business, please feel free to contact me. Thanks so much! ❤
Happy Monday! I find a bit difficult to talk only about myself, so starting this week from a special shoutout to @beepwrites this morning - a Malaysian lady who makes half pans (these little white plastic cubes) with 3D printer from biodegradable plastic🎨😍. I really respect people who creates something new and find their own niche👏. Prices are twice cheaper than in local art shops (1RM for one half pan) and her service is amazing. Thanks again, Tuan! I'm planning to order more this week😊
