Small watercolour practice from a couple of moths back, done on normal sketchbook paper not watercolour paper which is why it's a little wrinkled but I was still very happy with the outcome. Would've liked to get the skin a little darker to match the person I was drawing but the paper started giving in as I was going darker so I had to stop where I got to 🤷🏼♀️
"The swans came and stopped us."
"'They mate for life' you said as they left"
"We stood by a pond that winter day." 🌻
Winter Swans ❄ and Neutral Tones 🍁
These are the two poems that inspired this painting. Owen Sheers and Thomas Hardy.
About a year ago I finished this memorial portrait of Helen the Cat, a lovely gift from @baaaaadjuju to @bitchesgottaeat . Like all cats, she had some quirks. Yet she was loved dearly all the same. Her person wrote a memorial and I recommend reading it and reading everything else Samantha Irby writes and will write because we all need some good laughs in our lives. #nicolesimoneoshea#memorialportrait#watercolorcat#petportrait
And then comes the most fun part about any painting; adding the golden embellishments ✨ I seriously can not get over this ink, it's just so pretty 🌸! I was afraid I wouldn't be able to use it this time because the cap got stuck and I couldn't open it 🙄
Have you ever had a stuck cap on a jar that would let itself open 😪?
