#100DaysofTeabagArt | Random Art Mix | Day-22 | The Starry Night
Watercolours and Gouache on used tea bag (@yogitea )
The Starry Night is an oil on canvas by the Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise, with the addition of an idealized village. It is regarded as among Van Gogh's finest works, and is one of the most recognized paintings in the history of Western culture. I personally love this painting and like trying to reproduce it in my own ways possible, mainly for the style of this painting. It's always so dynamic and moving, a night in movement. And oh, I love the night sky to no bounds and this automatically fits that description.
'The Starry Night' attempt on a thirty second timelapse for the #100DaysofTeaBagArt series, I was procrastinating and doing this instead of all the other work I am actually supposed to be doing this weekend.
process shots of a new piece im working on!! looking to get some prints of these babs ;w;
i realised i never did anything like this before, so this is a WIP ! lots of layering and tiny paint strokes. my dreams will be made of paint strokes, but it's worth the fun and constant challenge! i started with no background at first, but realised it looked very unfinished, so chatted about a few ideas before settling on the creatures cradled in the roots of a tree. it felt like a huge risk but im glad i took it!
now to stop for the night before my eyes fall out, tho i could do this all night if it weren't so intense on them ~ so relaxing to work on
if you got this far, thanks for reading my rambling. im just very excited about this piece.
