Feeling under the weather?  Have you been exposed to lots of germs?  Already sick?  This is my tried and true "recipe". Put three drops of each essential oil in a capsule and add fractionated coconut oil (aka FCO) to the remainder.  Take with a big glass of water 2x daily for a few days. Thai Marinade + Sauce: 1/3 cup light coconut milk, 2 tsp reduced sodium soy sauce, 1 Tbsp lime juice, 2 tsp curry powder, 1 garlic clove, 1 tsp minced fresh ginger

(Woulda posted it anyways though cause it’s aaaamazing, so keep hatin’ haters.) I really just kinda made it up as I went. And I’m a big fan of that now because this turned out great. It tastes like chicken pot pie but crust-less. And is healthy. KILLER COMBO, YEAH? 🙌🏻
In a crockpot for 4-6 hours:
Lean ground turkey, chicken broth, sweet potatoes, 2 stalks of celery, 2 garlic cloves, 2 carrots, kale, white onion, jalapeño, and @ancientharvest red lentil rotini (👈🏻that’s the game changer, y’all). Brown turkey in a skillet. Sauté veggies (except potatoes and jalapeño) for 8-10 min. Add meat and veggies to crockpot. Add remaining veggies, broth, and lentil pasta. Season with salt and pepper. And patiently wait 🙇🏼‍♀️
Here’s the secret: the pasta breaks apart and thickens the mixture creating the most tasty and divine comfort-food-like consistency. It’s a hearty, healthy, magical pot. Just remember y’all, don’t judge a book by its cover!!! 🧞‍♀️

I am always intrigued by the shift and evolving energy as we close one chapter, one year, and open a new one. Nothing really changes. It’s a new minute, a new hour. AND that minute, that hour, holds so much potential and joy. -

Think about it. -

As the new year rolled in and as the clock struck 00:00, there was a collective, worldwide, palpable sense of glee and possibility. It is as though we were each handed the best present in the world and that present is opportunity, potential, anything you could hope and dream. -

Now, as we reflect nearly two weeks later, we can still taste the newness, the excitement of that gift. Resolutions and commitments are set. -

The question is, how do we maintain that joy, year-round? How do we not resign it to a mere, “January feeling”? -

Truth is, it is all a fabrication of our mind and every moment is filled with potential and opportunity, if we allow ourselves to be open to it. If we allow ourselves to see it.

What new perspective will you stand in and fight to hold? It takes work to maintain new perspectives and not let ourselves slip, as old habits and ways of thinking are well-built neuro-muscles.

Why, for you, does 2018 hold so much promise? What’s the value gained by those new commitments?

#Wednesdaywellness Tip. I am trying to be a more mindful eater in 2018. Some days are better than others 🤷‍♀️. I’m learning that allowing yourself to eat and savor foods actually prevents overeating – mind blown! 🤯

Tips on becoming a mindful eater:
1️⃣ Feed your body when it tells you to (stomach growls, low energy, fogginess)
2️⃣ Allow yourself those “forbidden” foods whenever you want. Example: When you realize you can have a cookie anytime then you don’t feel compelled to eat ALL the Christmas cookies. They are no longer a “once a year” treat.
3️⃣ Reduce distractions at meal time. No computer, smart phone, or 📺!
4️⃣ Stop eating when full.
6️⃣ If you are still craving something, drink a glass of water💧 and wait 10 minutes. You might be thirsty instead of hungry.

This message is to the person that sent me a DM regarding their diagnosis with type 2 diabetes. I accidentally deleted it before I had a chance to respond, and I couldn’t recall your IG handle. Sorry, hopefully you see this message:

I know how you feel. I was bummed out about it too. Unfortunately, most Drs will say it’s a progressive disease. You can battle with diet and exercise. I tried the recommended ‘diet’ and exercise approach-to no avail. Still took meds (the same ones you are on now) then I had to start taking blood pressure medication 😟. This picture is from this past October, 4 months of dedication got my A1C level from 11 to 5.3-🙌🏽(obviously-results may vary) It’s important to note that there is NO permanent cure for diabetes, it can always come back- if YOU let it. This way of eating not only helped me lose weight and feel awesome. Since this picture, I have not been on any diabetes medication, and I have been taken off my blood pressure medication as well. The only pills I take now are multi vitamins. 
You don’t have to feel down about your type 2, take it as a challenge. If you are truly ready for a change, make that decision. Then take it on, one day at a time. What’s the worst that can happen? Failure? I failed lots of times, but kept pushing. Progress led to confidence, and confidence led to determination. I am not special or unique, lots of people suffer from type 2 Diabetes. I’m just some dude that got tired of the bullshit, and refused to be another statistic. Nobody will take care of you like YOU can take care of yourself. You got this.🤙🏽

Wednesday Wellness Tips: Intuitive guidance from the Divine Medicine Lady for Wednesday wellness day. Tip number one: practice non-reaction. Non-reaction is about being present for your emotions and becoming the observer rather than immediately reacting from a more impulsive, emotional place. 
When we can become the observer we can move forward in our life from a place of intention and choice. We become an empowered agent rather than a victim to our emotions. 
Tip #2. Experiment with herbal remedies. One of my favorites is lemon balm because it is extremely emotionally balancing - it can help with depression but also help with anxiety. 
Tip #3. Remember to take advantage of the healing resources around you. Mother earth is happy to transmute many the old emotions that we are now letting go of. You can give it to her and ask her to give it to the light. That means putting your feet in the ocean, or a stream or simply putting your bare feet on the ground. Hug a tree, sit beneath a huge tree or look up at the sky.
