Ingredients: 70 g oats, 350 ml almond milk 15-20 xylitol, 10 g vegan vanilla protein or 1/4 tsp ground vanilla, 1.5 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder 1/2 tsp maca powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, about 1 tsp ground psyllium husks (optional). Place all of the ingredients into a pan and heat it. Let simmer until the oats become soft. Enjoy with fruit and nut butter

🦄Too many people worry and concern and get anxious about losing their progress over Thanksgiving (and Christmas and Channukah and New Years and Kwanza and blah blah blah).

☕️They worry about how much they'll eat & drink, and they don't want to get fat but they also want to have fun and celebrate. So they drive themselves bonkers trying to figure out how to mesh "having fun" with "achieving their fitness goals" and eventually just say "screw it" and often binge, regret it, and put a massive damper on the holiday season.

☕️I'm not telling you to eat till you’re sick, but I am saying don't you dare worry about celebrating the holidays and enjoying yourself and even putting on a few pounds. Because most of the weight you put on is NOT fat. It's water and stomach content and glycogen and magical unicorn sparkles. And as soon as you get back to your normal routine it'll come right off, you'll be good to go, and won't feel bad in the least for going "off track." Which brings up a good point.

I hear from women all the time who are frustrated because they are busting their butt’s with their workouts yet seeing little to no progress. Which makes me sad. Because their lack of results is certainly not for lack of effort. Rather, it’s because the type of training they think they should be doing to achieve their ideal physique is instead leading them further away

The most common mistake I see women making is exercising in a way that does little if anything to build muscle. Long bouts of cardio, lifting light weights for high reps, and participating in group exercise classes, while good for burning some additional calories, can not take the place of a structured weight training program.

While many women avoid lifting heavy weights for fear of getting too bulky, the reality is, it’s the very thing they need to be doing to achieve a lean, toned physique. Because muscle tone is nothing more than the presence of muscle in the absence of body fat, and the only way to achieve that is by challenging the body with enough resistance to actually build muscle in the first place.

Women also tend to judge the effectiveness of a workout by how it feels. They believe if they aren’t dripping in sweat, with their heart pumping and muscles burning, then what they did wasn’t effective. Sure a heavy set of squats may not produce the same feel as a circuit of light weights and plyometrics, but it’s certainly more effective at providing the body with the stimulus necessary to get stronger and build more muscle.

But for those who do lift weights, another mistake they make is not focusing on getting stronger over time. Whether it’s by lifting more weight or performing more reps, you must be continuously improving in some fashion or else you will continue to look the same.

Yet it’s giving your body the time to rest that allows it to come back stronger and push harder. If you don’t let your muscles recover, you will continue to spin your wheels.

Eeeekkk so my own transformation is a little longer between photos than we’re use to showing here however, thought I'd share 🏋‍♀

Training time coming in at just over 6⃣ and half years. Stat wise I'm about 3stone, 42lbs, 19kg heavier. I've also gained a beard and realised a good hair cut goes a long way... 🙈
.
The reason I'm posting this is it's always extremely reassuring to know the person whose information you're taking in is following the same advice themselves. I'm a firm believer in you have to practice what you preach 👊
.
If you don't already know I'm huge on IIFYM (if it fits your macros) or flexible dieting. It has been such a game changer for me and something I teach all my clients with a very balanced approach. Sometimes this diet gets a bad name and it's down to people abusing the principles instead of following a 80/20 rule. 🥒🍌🍞🥗🥘80% good whole foods lots of veggies & fruits 🥗🥘
🍫🍿 20% Junk food, snacks etc 🍪🍷
.
Obviously you'll have your days were this does go the other way but weight loss and weight gain really is a calories game and as long as the odd cheat meal doesn't turn into a cheat day or week you'll be alright 😋
.
I honestly have never looked back after doing this way of dieting. Not only does it give me the freedom to eat like a 'normal person' and stay in great shape, it's also given me the physique I've achieved today 🙃
.
This doesn't mean it's been easy to achieve - I've probably gone no more than a few weeks off training in this time and that's been due to holidays 🏖 or getting ill 🤒 However I do love my training and it definitely keeps my head in the right place, I'm definitely a firm believer in 'You walk in the gym with problems & walk out with solutions' 💪
