Reflecting back on this year I have so much to be thankful for. Last year I was the leanest Iโ€™ve ever been yet I still felt so empty, I was proud of where all the weight I lost but I still felt like I was lacking purpose. 
I started hosting dietbet games and I got this overwhelming sense of purpose again like what I was doing was actually making a difference. It inspired me so much that I signed up for school in holistic nutrition so I could help people even further. I would like to thank all of you for being a part of my journey and keeping my motivated everyday. I canโ€™t wait to see what the future holds and being able to help people not only lose weight in the future but also heal their bodies and focus on the healthiest possible them vs the skinnier possible them. Iโ€™ve leaned so learned so much about myself and what I want in life and Iโ€™m just so happy that I found this huge family in social media.

One of the โ€œrulesโ€ I have with myself and clients is that nutrition should never-EVER take away from living life and spending time with others.

You see, a lot of the time, folks get so obsessed with their weight loss goals that they end up isolating themselves or avoiding social events.

And sure, that gives them more control, but itโ€™s no way to live life...

Trust me. Iโ€™ve been there. I would purposefully bail on friends because I wouldn't have total control over my food. Yeah. was able to stick to my diet. Whoop-de-doo. For me, that need-for-control thinking is what eventually led me down a path of depression and loneliness later in life AFTER losing weight.

Hereโ€™s the good news โœ…: you can absolutely enjoy going out to eat while sticking to your diet goals. It just takes a bit of strategic thinking and planning

This graphic illustrates what I call the โ€œWork Backwardโ€ Method. It's the perfect strategy for enjoying your restaurant/party meals WITHOUT blowing your diet in the process.

First, you'll wanna look up the menu for the restaurant in question and find a meal that sounds good. It doesnโ€™t have to be the โ€œhealthiestโ€ item on the menu, but you donโ€™t have to eat like an asshole either...

Get what you want - just be reasonable ๐Ÿ˜‰

Next, youโ€™ll wanna find the nutrition info for your meal. If they provide it, you're good to go. If not, find a similar meal from a popular restaurant that does have nutrition info.

Now comes the most important part...

Knowing how many calories your meal will be, adjust your OTHER meals to fit your daily calorie/macro goals. That way, at the end of the day, youโ€™re still on target ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Finally, realize that you wonโ€™t be perfect, and thatโ€™s 100% okay! It's impossible to be perfect, and trying to do so will just stress you out. Focus on consistently doing your best, and I promise youโ€™ll have a MUCH more enjoyable (and ultimately success) weight loss journey.

The picture on the left was my very first progress photo for my page! This was almost exactly a year ago! I was 5 weeks into my journey, down 30 pounds, weighing in at 221, wearing a size 16 pant and I was feeling pretty good about it! Today I am a year and 3 weeks into my journey, I'm down 96 pounds, weighing in at 155 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ, wearing a size 4 and I feel SO GOOD. The difference that I see in these pictures tho is not just my body size, but the size of my smile. My smile tells you just how big of a transformation I have made not only on the outside but also on the inside.  I am a different person. A completely different person. I am so much happier. And you can clearly see that in these photos and that's what a transformation is all about. #transformationtuesday

Have you been training biceps and getting a shoulder pump?? This may be why.

Bicep training should be focused around what is happening around ๐Ÿ” the elbow joint. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ In the past couple of weeks, I have seen a handful of men and women using mainly momentum to maximize weight used and compromising shoulder stability for added ROM. โŒ
.
๐Ÿ”Ž If you are having trouble isolating your biceps during a curl variation, simply think of creating stability in your core and scapula ๐Ÿ”’ and using a cable - this will help maintain constant tension. ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ
.
๐Ÿค• if you feel pain in your elbows during a bicep exercise, lower the weight, and learn a more efficient movement pattern and contraction. You may also need to change up the attachment you are using - fixed bars tend to cause more elbow discomfort.
.
My advice:
โœ… stabilize your core and scapula
โœ… focus on keeping elbows fixed to help maintain tension on your biceps
โœ… if you have the ability to create an opposing force (i.e. preacher curl), do it
โœ… joint movement should be coming from the elbow, not shoulder
โœ… maintain tension through the eccentric
โœ… fully extend the arm and contract with the bicep forcefully out of the bottom
โŒ common mistake is using momentum to complete ROM while using maximal weight
โŒ flexion at the shoulder causing activation of front delt
.
๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ I would recommend starting with a lighter weight than you are used to for 3 sets of 6-12 reps focusing on execution and keeping tension on your biceps.

Oddly enough over the last few months I have remained the EXACT same weight. But obviously I've noticed that the shape and composition of my body is different. I have lost lean muscle mass and gained fat, so while my weight has remained the same, the shape of my body has changed.

While weight is an good indication of progress there are also other parameters than can be useful!
1๏ธโƒฃ Clothes Size - This is the biggest one for me. When my clothes start getting tight, I know something has changed 
2๏ธโƒฃ Body Fat % - A favourite of mine. This gives me a great insight into my body's composition - how much of my physique is adipose or fat tissue and how much is muscle
3๏ธโƒฃ Individual Measurements - I've never actually done this before but maybe it's time I started measuring the circumference of individual body parts to measure change! 
4๏ธโƒฃ Finally, how you FEEL you look. As with everything healthy/body image etc, isn't just how you look but how you feel! .

@running_linda I'm Italian,and i've been a little fat from when I was a child..in the photo on the left I was 22,on the right it's me now,32 years old. I started to run 4 years ago,there's not a special story behind my change,suddendly something changed in my mind and I start to love myself and treat myself well. Nobody teach me that,my parents always wanted to see me eat a lot,because be fat was healty for them,and I don't blame them for it. I now it was their way to show me love.

Determined to have a good week and make better choices about what I usd my syns on. Today will be a teat as we are having a little work Christmas party for parents and the kids... I have baked brownies and caramelized red onion & goats cheese vol au vents. I will NOT be eating any.
I have set myself a target, and that is to lose 4.5lb by Jan 3rd. That will take me to 1.5st. Wednesday night #wod was Coffland and it was a real challenge. 
When I joined #crossfitdhm back in June I could hang on the bar for one maybe two SECONDS so to say I was dreading this workout was an understatement. 
But it went better than I expected. My first couple of hangs were good (1:10 and 0:55). I fatigued pretty quickly after that which was frustrating but not surprising. 
Penalty rounds (400m row and 15 push-ups) weโ€™re capped at four for the scaled version which gave me the chance at a half decent time. 
Think this will be a good one to retest in six more months. I may even have a chance at RXing it by then.

Instead try behavior goals, they define the path to follow and help us achieve the outcome while keeping it simple.

Decided to take the night off and enjoy my evening with my husband. But back at the gym tomorrkw!! I'm so excited that these size 14 jeans are fitting super comfy still a little tight at top but looks like I'll be able to wear them when I expected too!!! I'm also excited next week's weigh in i will be ( I'm declaring it in the 230's) I'm so excited for that!!! My true test for my weightloss is getting down to under 220!! I haven't been that in almost 4 years! I'm so close to onderland I can taste it!!! ๐Ÿ˜ I've never wanted something so much in my life but for me to be the best version of myself!!!! When you feel like giving up, realize why you started in the first place. I'm so glad I decided enough was enough. I'm so glad I changed my mindset, I'm glad I stopped feeding my body poison. I'm so glad that I started to value myself more. I'm glad I have given myself somethiing worth meaning again. I'm glad that I found a purpose again. I can't wait to see all the changes I'll make over the next 9 months, all the lives I'll help change, all the lives I'll inspire. @blakel09 Iv fought with weight my whole life. Iv been on diet after diet and I would never see progress so I would slowly quit and gain all the weight back. So I started cutting out all sodas, fast food, starches and started eating lean meat and veggies every day and drinking a gallon of water. In 6 months I went from 217 pounds to currently 170 pounds. (47 pounds) I have never been more happy with myself or life. I'm perform better at work and I now have a social life. And working out is much easier for me now and I'm doing things I never thought I would be able to do in the gym. .
