🏃🏽♀️Is cardio necessary for fat loss ?🏃🏽
Ladies and a few men, if you're doing cardio or running/jogging or any other form of aerobic activity with the intention of losing fat or that last little layer of flab around your waist, or look good at the beach, you're doing it for all the wrong reasons.
Traditional cardio sucks for fat loss- period. The fittest looking people and the smartest coaches in the world in the world base their exercise program around weight lifting/strength training. Cardio MAY BE A PART of the plan but IT'S NOT THE FOUNDATION.
Anyone who's been in this game long enough will tell you that hierarchy of physique transformation revolves around 1. Nutrition 2. Strength Training and cardio is distant third.
I personally perform cardio twice in a week (HIIT's) with the intention of keeping my heart healthy and not BC IT'S going to make me beach ready. Also, bc i enjoy HIIT's more than Steady state cardio (if that matters to you) 💁🏻
If you're running or doing cardio for performance enhancement, sport specific training or general health and endorphin rush or to prove something to yourself or just bc you like and enjoy doing it- that's absolutely fine.
Bottom line- if you're doing cardio for fat loss, educate yourself and train smart. A small amount of cardio is fine but really not necessary for fat loss.
For me Strength training>Cardio sessions. Reasons?
• Increase in natural/growth hormone
• Rises resting metabolic rate (rate at which body burns calories while at rest)
• Better nutrient partitioning effects
•Dem Gainz = better physique (toned body)

Decided to try one set of squats and deadlifts with light weight to see how they felt. This is the first time I have done these since September when I herniated 2 discs. They felt pretty good with almost no pain. I may incorporate some light weight higher rep sets in the coming weeks. Today was just feeling the weight.
