Shelf brackets that are hand textured.. the stock is cut and put into the forge.. then the metal meets the hammer and anvil.. from there the brackets are flattened/squared/bent to the correct dimensions.. Each one is unique! Would you hang these in your home? #grind
Craft is seeing a popular revival but there is a constant female (largely) contingent who are a bastion of skilled craft. The sewers, knitters, darners, crocheters. These are the crafters who wield extreme talent and yet are largely uncelebrated. Is this because these crafts are viewed as “women’s crafts” or is there a distinction which outlines professional crafts and hobby crafts, where the recognition a craft is awarded is correlated with the amount of money one earns from it. Some working photos of the aluminium/corduroy chair I made for our living room. #ursulakleguin#craft#hobby#maker#welding#sewing#corduroy#handmade#seat#chair#armchair#aluminium
