Sac Actun is an underwater cave system measuring an astounding 260 km in explored length and the oldest evidence of human habitation in this area to date was found here -among other Palaeolithic remains-.

From: @katemiddletonyoga " I often linger at the entrance to the underwater world,
tip toeing my way in
One dive at a time.
This place is soft, vast, alive and devastated.
It's beautiful and colorful and completely devoid of light in some places.
It's gentle and calm and terrifyingly fierce.
There's a deep silence among the constant chattering of creatures.
This world is like an honest friend, not afraid to sit with you while you swallow the truth.
She will show you where you are jagged and eventually she will soften you in one way or another.
She welcomes you with the promise of the unpredictable and the unknown.
Dive in. .

Probably a bad idea to adjust and refine my boots 48 hours before heading to Japan and celebrate Halloween there. Let’s hope the new glue doesn’t fall apart during the flight. Cosplay props + long flights is every cosplayers’ nightmare. Photo by @paincakesphoto

It was another great day on Lake Superior, hard to believe this has been in my backyard the entire time and I have barely taken much notice. Here is a shot of @jleemz (Jared Liimu) surfing some waves at Neys Provincial Park.
DAY 242 | APNEA
France - B. 🇫🇷
We started our day with a lesson on equipment : what we were supposed to have at our disposal to work under water without risking our lives. It kind of reminds me the hygiene and security procedures of the lab but this time it was with waterproof material. After this lesson we had a huge part on how we can calculate our decompression stop under different more or less dangerous conditions : mixed gaz, air, multiple deep dive, with accelerated ascent etc... It seems easier than the training I had for my level 2 and 3. This time most of the answers are written in the MT92 tables.
During the afternoon (with of course an amazing weather...) we were inside, in the swimming pool and worked on apnea. I realised that in fact I never did any real apnea. This training seems more complete than when I did some apnea during my time as a rescue swimmer. Plus, this time we worked with a tuba and I don’t like using a tuba. I felt like I drown sometimes. We practiced the duck-diving too and the rescue of a syncopated co-swimmer in the water and how to take him out the water too. As I said earlier, easier for my training mate than for me. They are way taller and stronger than me to carry a dead-like body out the water. We laughed a lot in front of my incompetence and my weak muscle! 😅
