🌀 Good Morning Monday!! 5am workout complete, killed back and biceps today!! And hoping to get my walk in this evening after work :) I need to focus on my nutrition this week, I’ve been really slacking in that department lately falling for the cravings and not strong enough to say NO to myself lol.. need to stay away from the chips this week and eat more veggies and protein. I have my hubby yummy homemade veggie soup and chicken for lunch.

Leaner by the day, 179-180 back and forth from water. Trained back and biceps today, Not the best at taking pics but I tried. Fasted cardio 4 days a week at the moment for 35 mins. 7 weeks out and got work to do. Just an hour ago I was shaking, tears gathering in my eyes, shame peeking from another time & place, almost 35 years ago.

Once a year I go get my routine blood tests. Not a big deal. But every time it means to re-experience the trauma of me, three years old, held down by four nurses cause I didn't want them to take my blood.

For years, going to have blood taken was an agony. Until I started asking someone to come with me & hold my hand - my dad, friend or partner. I started taking no BS from nurses nor doctors. I asked for what I needed: a quiet room, patience, compassion.

Today I was on my own so I had to parent that little girl, still feeling her terror & the fear of being abandoned. In spite of the usual voice telling me I should grow up, I once again asked for a separate room. 
The nurse looked annoyed & I decided to ignore it & stay by my side. After an instant she changed & became very caring. She got that my pain was real. 
I sat there, allowing my tears to flow, my body to shake, my heart to break a little reconnecting to the trauma.

By itself, this is a minor thing in my life. And yet, to be with that pain, no judgement nor need to have it different, all while holding myself with the kindness I didn't receive over three decades ago, was a deeply healing experience.

Ok got my light weight chest workout done, passed out the brochures on how to volunteer to assist in Special Olympics power lifting. Hoping it does some good when training starts. I have a meeting with my physical therapist on Tuesday to discuss my options on a wheelchair. Hoping for good news there.
