Friday 27th October dust off your spooky costumes and strap in for a night of tunes at The B.East for SYN's Spooky Halloween Spectacular with special guests The Basement Bees, CALLAN and The Tarantinos!
The Basement Bees are filled up with amazing musos including 1700’s very own Co-Executive Producer Carlin Plumb. They’re warming up the night with their funky outfits and even funkier rock tunes.
Callan is a two-piece band made up of performer, priestess & underground superstar Callan Bradley Hales & multi-medium artist, drummer & sweetheart Slam Ross. Together they explore healing, empowerment & resistance.
The Tarantinos are Melbourne based concept band dedicated to playing hits from soundtracks involving Writer/ Director/ Producer Quentin Tarantino.
They play the best known, (and some lesser known) songs from the films Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Dusk till Dawn, Kill Bill, Death Proof, Inglourious Basterds and his latest hit Django Unchained.
The Tarantinos embody all the hard-hitting style of the films in which they play the supporting soundtracks. With audio samples from the films, sharp costumes and an attitude to match, The Tarantinos bring their energy across the various musical genres that accompany films that have inspired them for many years.
The aim of our birthday parties aren't just about having lots of fun, it's also about celebrating the birthday child and ensuring that they are happy. Sometimes that means you need your favourite teddy and a cuddle from Elsa!
Take part in our costume competition this Saturday October 21, Back to the Future Day! The Soda Rock crew is dressing up as Back to the Future characters, or in '80s, '50s or futuristic outfits, and we'd love you to dress up too! You could win a Back to the Future prize! Please note you have to be fine with us taking a photo of you, you have to be fine with us posting a photo of you on our Instagram and our Facebook page (whether you're a winner or not), and you have to be fine with giving us your postal address if you're a winner 😉 (Or you could come and collect your prize in person.)
STEP 1: Decide on your costume! You must look like you just stepped out of a Back to the Future movie, or the '80s, or the '50s, or the future! (If you don't look like any of these, you can still have fun wearing your costume, but it won't win the prize!)
STEP 2: Come down to Soda Rock on Saturday October 21 (in your costume!) to have a meal between 11am–10pm. (Note we are fully booked between roughly 6:45pm–9:15pm, but not before or after.)
STEP 3: Take a photo of yourself here in the diner with your own phone or digital camera (you'll probably run outatime if you use a typical film camera!). In the photo we need to be able to see 2 things: (1) your costume (just your face and top half is okay! Hard to see legs if you're sitting at a table!) and (2) your Soda Rock meal!
STEP 4: You need to get a 2nd photo, but taken by us: while you're here, ask one of the staff to take a photo (using the Soda Rock camera) of your whole costume, head to toe, while you're standing. Don't be shy, we're all friendly people! Simply explain that you're taking part in the costume competition ☺️ (But if you are shy, we suggest asking us when you are paying at the register 😉 )
STEP 5: Post the photo you took of yourself on Instagram and make sure you (1) set the location to Soda Rock Diner and (2) tag us (@sodarockdiner). You must post it before 6am Sun Oct 22 (otherwise you'll be outatime 😉 ).
STEP 6: Follow us (@sodarockdiner) if you don't already 😉
If you've done all the above 6 steps, and we love your costume more than anyone else's costume, you win! We'll mail your prize out to you. ☺️
