One of the most powerful emotions I’ve felt in life was when it clicked in my head when I turned vegan. LOTS of anger, towards myself, the world, everyone and mostly my parents who haven’t seen the truth and been letting me eat animals all my life. Also towards my friends and the people around me, I couldn’t understand why no one before me realized this?! So much regret, and sadness. Sadness for all the animals that are have been hurting, that is hurting and that it’s not even close to ending.
I have been vegan for two years now and the only thing I’m regretting is that I didn’t became vegan sooner. 💛💓✨🐮🐷🐥
Not the prettiest looking smoothie bowl 😂 but it was the perfect brain fuel before my exam 💪🏻📚
Your brain runs on glucose 🤓 so a high-carb high-fructose (from natural sources, of course, where the fiber is still intact) meal paired with omega-3s (from the flax and hemp seeds) before demanding tasks where you need the most concentration is an excellent way to give your mind a boost 🙌🏼
🔘 1 1/2 frozen bananas
🔘 1 date
🔘 1 big handful of spinach
🔘 1 tsp of cacao powder
🔘 1 tsp of ground flaxseed 🔘 Cinnamon
🔘 Vanilla extract
🔘 Coconut milk and water (+/- depending on desired texture)
🔘 1/2 banana
🔘 Hemp seeds
🔘 Homemade granola
Okay so an update on my 30 days to healthy living program with Arbonne! I am 16 days in and feeling great! I am DOWN 10 POUNDS!! 🙌🙌🙌 (Lee is down more... but who is counting LOL)
I have cut out coffee completely and replaced it with a fizz stick... I used to have 3-4 cups a day and still feel tired now I wake up without that foggy tired brain and more energy than ever. I have found the experience to be lots of fun, lee and I have been experimenting with different dishes in the kitchen and learning alternative foods. I cant wait to see how the other 14 days is and I am just going to keep going with it, I mean why not if ive been feeling this great ❤
I just finished watching #whatthehealth on Netflix and OMG I watched the whole show open mouthed! I recommend giving it a watch... sure pays to be an educated consumer
I. Love. Pasta. Salad. So. Much. 🤤😍 This one’s elbow pasta with black beans, chickpeas, corn, bell peppers, pickles, green onions, and @followyourheart soy-free + chipotle vegenaise (the best vegan mayo ever). It’s so delicious and so simple to make. P.s. yes, my plant in the right bottom corner is dying. 😞
Please tell me more of your excuses for not going vegan😒
I just wanna point out that even if we knew what all of our early ancestors were eating across the Earth during our entire evolutionary history it still doesnt mean that because some of them ate meat some of the time that we should continue to do so now. All evidence points to the fact that our gut evolution and our ancestral diets were composed of fruits, nuts, vegetables, leaves, some insects. It's beneficial for people in general to revert to our ancestral diets rather than following cultural norms.
Second I wanna point out that culinary arts is just that, an ART, where you take something natural and turn it into something unnatural by cooking it. It serves no purpose besides making us feel good about our capability to cook. We eat food for fuel and I think it's pretty simple that if it's beneficial for us then we should consume it and what is not, we shouldn't. Animals don't need to be killed because you like how they taste. The sooner we start filtering out shit from our diets created only for profit, the better. If we don't look out for ourselves, nobody else will. Healthcare industry doesn't make money off healthy people, so they sicker you are, the better it is for them. #govegan#maketheconnection#whatthehealth#earthlings#hownottodie#forksoverknives#veganpower#whatveganseat#truth

FIBROIDS (aka uterine leiomyomas) are compact tumors that are made of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue that develop in the uterus. It is estimated that 20-50% of women of reproductive age have fibroids, although not all are diagnosed. Only about 1/3 of fibroids are large enough to be detected by a health care provider during a physical examination.
What are symptoms of uterine fibroids?
-Heavy or prolonged menstrual periods
-Abnormal bleeding between menstrual periods
-Pelvic pain (caused as the tumor presses on pelvic organs)
-Low back pain
-Pain during intercourse
-A firm mass, often located near the middle of the pelvis, which can be felt by the physician
-Subfertility or infertility
In some cases, the heavy or prolonged menstrual periods, or the abnormal bleeding between periods, can lead to IRON-DEFIENCY ANEMIA, which requires treatment.
What causes fibroids? The research here is unclear but because fibroids have ESTROGEN receptors, women who have higher circulating levels of estrogen are at increased risk. What raises our estrogen levels?
Obesity and diets high in animal fat and low in fiber. Animal fat also contains persistent organic pollutants, xenoestrogens, and heavy metals which may contribute to the development of fibroids.

♻️These plastic can holders kill thousands of animals each year, thrown away by careless people. These can strangle many wildlife and bird species.
The plastic gets caught around necks, abdomens, legs and wings and as they are plastic do not biodegrade. Many young animals are small enough to get caught in them and as they grow the plastic cuts into their skin leading to infections and a very slow, painful death. If you find any of these please cut them open before safely disposing of them to prevent any animals suffering a horrific death.
Please don’t drop litter – a lot of animals get injured by getting caught up inside pack plastic holders. Animals are naturally inquisitive creatures, but once they go into a small space, their spines prevent them from reversing out, so they need humans to cut them free. In some cases infection can set in and cause the animal severe suffering – in many cases, wildlife carers are left with little choice but to have the animal put to sleep. .
LONG POST ALERT!!! So.....I am not really active on IG as far as posting goes but I do follow quit a few fitness and nutrition Instagramers. This is just an introduction of myself. I am wife and mother of 3 and a fur baby who I swear was a person in another life! 😄. I have always loved the idea of fitness and being active but I have a hard time putting me first, it's always my family, my career, never me until now. For the past 3 months (July 16) I have been vegan. I started reading #Hownottodie and watched #whatthehealth and it truly changed my life. I was never big on eggs, and milk, chicken or streak. My vice was seafood. Omg I could eat a bushel of crabs by myself. But I gave it all up cold turkey and have not looked back. I have always loved cooking my own meals, not big into eating out, love love veggies. I found ways to make nacho cheese that is awesome and healthy w/ nutritional benefits. And vegan sushi with quinoa!!!. I just want to share my journey so that hopefully it will help and inspire some folks! I will be posting more often and recipes if you all are interested.

Zenzy wants to help you learn about everything to do with wellness, so when it comes to making your own choices, you can be your happiest & healthiest YOU 🙌🏼🌞🌺
Lets spark an exchange about the ever so talked about documentary, What the Health, that explores benefits of plant based diets and relative links between consuming animal products and an increase in cancers & chronic diseases...(not really news though, right?).
Although there's some intersting information that's discussed, I can't help but challenge a few of the claims: consuming eggs is apparently as bad as smoking (from the film-one egg per day is equivalent to smoking 5 cigarettes?!).
I've personally tried to implement limiting my meat (#meatlessmondays ) intake because 1) I've found that i can't comfortbaly digest large amounts of meat in one sitting/day, especially red meat (I get a bloating, nauseous feeling after a few oz) so learning to moderately replace animal with plant-based protein has helped my digestive track. 2) Do I really need to get into the environmental aspects?
The documentary's home page offers a list of links to their sources from medical journals yet I've read that some doctors, scientists etc, have claimed that these sources cant be trusted.
Am I the only one that feels overhwelmbed by what really consistues a 'healthy diet'? What are your thoughts? #WhatTheHealth#WednesdayWisdom

Did you know that doctors are only required to have 4-6 hours of nutritional training in ALL their years of schooling? I didn't know this until I personally began to learn about nutrition and health. By those standards most of you who have even done research online have more knowledge about nutrition then your average doctor. Just because they are a doctor doesn't mean they know what's good for your health. Doctors only know how to diagnose and prescribe. They know nothing about true health and healing, which comes through proper nutrition. I was talking to someone about this yesterday and just wanted to post the information I know and have available. Hopefully it will help others learn as well. We are not #omnivore beings by nature.
If you are a #meatlover and this offends you, sorry but the #truth cannot be hidden.
These are all great documentaries that you can watch for free online to get started on your health education. Please do the research yourself.
Diwali signifies the triumph of good over evil, of righteousness over treachery, of truth over falsehood, and of light over darkness. The date of Diwali constantly changes because it coincides with the darkest night of the year and the new moon. This is meaningful as Diwali reminds us that even during the darkest times, light still prevails. Let us start fresh and clean our hearts and mind of any darkness that may have entered them and replace it with love and light. Happy Diwali!
Finally watching #whatthehealth and wow! Being vegan is a long journey for me because I fall back on old destructive patterns when life gets tough, but this movie is helping me get back on track!
