Today my man finished his first #whole30! Words cannot express how proud of him that I am! He was complaining about feeling sick, tired, and bloated! I told him I think it's time for a whole30. He was reluctant, to say the least, but he agreed. The first two weeks he was grouchy, and he missed his sugar and white carbs. But, he slayed that #sugardragon! Now, he sleeps through the night like a baby, and doesn't snore(my favorite😂) His hands don't fall asleep anymore, and I think he looks 10 years younger! I hope this helps someone out there that has lost hope, and needs help! This isn't a diet, gimmick or fad! It's a life change! If he and I can do this, anyone can! I am proof, because, I have been living this way for 3 years! We are doing another one on July 10th if anyone want to join us! Let so this!

Eu tenho um problema sério com salada que se chama preguiça de fazer. Ontem resolvi organizar tudo em potinhos e pra não ter desculpas, deixei o molho pronto tbm. O molho de salada é simples: duas partes de óleo (usei azeite extra virgem), uma partes de ácido (usei vinagre de maçã) e temperos (sal, orégano e cebola desidratada). Agita o vidro e vc terá um molho de salada cremoso e delicioso! Imagina agora as inúmeras variações 😋. Aprendi com a @sillmeloakita .

Aqui é tudo feito no olho 👀 então quantidades ficam ao teu critério, ok?!
Refoguei frango desfiado no azeite com cebola e alho desidratados, depois acrescentei água o suficiente e deixei ferver. Em seguida cenouras em cubos e qndo as cenouras estavam quase macias, adicionei couve-flor triturada e deixei cozinhar. Acertei o sal, adicionei pimenta do reino e depois de pronto, com a panela já desligada, um punhado de coentro. 😋😋😋

Today was a perfect day to grill... and I made it my goal to NOT turn on my oven at all! We made Lime Cilantro Marinated Pork Tenderloin with a side of Grilled Green Beans and Red Onions and Horseradish & Garlic Potato Salad.

The pork is an #altonbrown recipe and I just sub a few dates for the honey and throw all the ingredients in my blender. I HIGHLY recommend his recipe/method for this. Just google "Alton Brown Grilled Pork Tenderloin" and you'll find it!

The potato salad is a good amount of mayo, a few dashes of white vinegar, heaping 3 tsp of Horseradish (TJ's is compliant!!), 10 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 red onion (diced), 3 stalks of celery (diced), russet potatoes and S&P.

For the green beans, I just tossed them and the other half of my red onion (sliced) in EVOO and S&P and put them in our grill skillet. Easy peasy! ✌️-Danielle

Whole 30 - Day 34 
There have been so many benefits I have seen on this Whole 30 Adventure. I am sleeping better, feeling better, I am not feeling swollen and bloated after I eat. This has not been hard! A bit of a learning curve, Yes! 
Retraining my "needs" and cravings, Yes!
Focusing on my mind and spirit more than my body, Yes!
Dealing with why I feel I "need" certain foods to comfort me instead of turning to God and cultivating real relationship with Him, YES!
During the last 34 days I have had many people say to me, "I can't live without...dairy, sugar, grains, bread...whatever food." And I had moment where God made it real simple to me, if I can't live without a certain food, then I am living for it. I will no longer live for the foods that once seemed to comfort me, but in truth held me captive!

Good news and bad news. 
Let's start with the bad news. 
So, while chatting and enjoying our Friday, I munched on my share of chips & salsa THEN remembered I was on Day 4 of my Whole30 Round 2. 
Good news is that I ordered this Whole30 approved dish of "Mango Chicken with double broccoli/ no rice" and enjoyed every last bite. (Save THAT idea for your next "approved" taco Tuesday outing 😉) That being said, I COULD have thrown in the towel, choked down a chimichanga and queso, and lathered in my defeat. 
But I do this for accountability. I do this for support. 
I share my struggles and victories, because not even a COACH is perfect- but that's the most important part. 
The result? I started my Whole30 over to Day One the next day (because that's the way the program is designed) and MOVED ON. 
Day 4 going on 30 and feeling strong ❤️

I was a little worried since the mole sauce called for raisins, almond butter, and cocoa powder, but it all came together so well. The recipe called for ground pork, but in my early morning confusion I defrosted ground beef. It was still delicious! Back on the wagon today!  Yesterday was filled with pasta, cheese, bread and sweets and my body let me know how bad of an idea it was.  Every ailment I had before starting #whole30 was back (fatigue, nasal congestion, headache, sore throat, etc). These things were completely absent during the past month.  I can't recommend this program enough and I'm listening to my body from now on! 
Breakfast: 3-egg omelet (with peppers, onions, potatoes, s/p) and blueberries.  My omelets usually look better than this but I was distracted by a little one and it overcooked.  Still good though!

What I thought was a "weight loss" plan turned out to be so much more!! Over 30 days ago I was having sharp stomach pains, nausea, calf cramps (in only my right leg) and anxiety regularly. Since starting Whole 30 they are all gone! I have a ton of energy and feel better than I ever have before.
Losing 10.6 pounds and going down 1-2 sizes is also a pretty damn sweet side effect of eating the right foods!!

Whole 30 is only 30 days but I have no plans to fall back into bad eating habits or go back to feeling horrible like I did before. I'm going to keep on keeping on. I'm not going to let the temporary pleasure of unhealthy food cause me a lifetime of pain.
If this recovering dessert, pizza, Splenda and Diet Coke addict can do it, so can you!
