Years ago Dr. Doug Odom (OB in Mississippi) noticed a startling difference in his practice. He had been recommending JP in his practice and those women were not experiencing preeclampsia during pregnancy, even though Mississippi has the highest rate in the country (about 20%). The other Dr's in his practice were not recommending JP. So he did a study comparing 178 JP users in his practice to non JP users. Same demographics, same area...VERY different results! Beautiful naked [blanched] almonds! 😊🙏🌿 Almonds are a beautiful Mother Nature superfood and are known in Ayurvedic medicine to be particularly nourishing for the eyes, bones, hair, nails and skin. 🌸...Like all nuts, seeds and legumes, it is best to soak these beauties before eating to allow the phytic acid/gases to be released from the nut/seed/legume, so that your body can digest these power foods much easier! With almonds, it's also important to remove the skin as the skin contains these enzyme inhibitors that if left on can lead to irritation of the digestive tract and malabsorption. 🌿 Blanching is easy ~ simply soak your almonds in boiling hot water, let sit for 5-10mins then tip that water out and pour cold water onto them. The skin will soften allowing the almond to easily 'pop' out with virtually no effort at all! If it doesn't work with the first blanch, repeat this process again until the skin loosens and the almonds just 'pop'! 🌿😊🙏🌸🌱Enjoy adding your home-blanched almonds to your morning Porridge, stewed apples, smoothie, pancakes and or snack pack. I definitely recommend everyone doing what I call the "FULL WHOLE30" at some point, but if you aren't ready to start there or want to even tweak it so that you can fit it to your lifestyle better, check out one of the resets below!

Because it's Friday and I thought it would be fun! Here are 8 fun facts about me to celebrate 8 months of virtual health and fitness coaching! 💕💕 1. Breakfast burritos are my favorite food of all time.
2. I told my husband that he was going to marry me after 3 months of dating-- I didn't scare him away! 👏🏻👏🏻 3. My biggest pet peeve is tardiness.
4. I LOVE true crime and listen to tons of podcasts, read books, and watch documentaries about cold cases and serial killers.
5. My biggest flaw is that I worry about EVERYTHING-- but I'm working on this.
6. One healthy habit I just CAN'T do is kombucha because of the tart/sour flavor.
7. I have a MA in organizational leadership which actually helps immensely with coaching.
8. My least favorite household chore is L A U N D R Y.
