Living a healthy life doesn’t need to be complicated. Keep it simple & nourish your body with real & whole foods that will love your body back. A great place to start is to look in your pantry and fridge. Is it filled with foods that will inspire healthy choices & leave you feeling great?
TIPS from my Pantry Detox e-guide (on my website): 1️⃣Clean out items in your kitchen that aren’t supporting your health goals & foods that you know aren’t loving your body back (e.g. packaged & processed foods; sugar-filled foods) . You can give them away, to charity or work morning teas to avoid waste.
2️⃣Fill your pantry with foods that make you feel good; foods that are filled with energy (real food!) & therefore will give you energy back. Every time you open your pantry & fridge doors you want to feel inspired to make a healthy choice that is going to nourish your body and leave you feeling great.
3️⃣When it comes to filling your pantry 👉🏻Choose foods as close to their natural state as possible; avoid processed and packaged food as much you can; check for refined sugars and preservatives; if you can’t pronounce the ingredients it’s probably not real food (unless its quinoa) of if it has too many ingredients listed on the back that look like high school chemistry terms it is probably going to out live you. Just eat real and whole foods.
4️⃣Organise your pantry and fridge so that it represents simplicity. An overcomplicated messy fridge/ pantry can add to overwhelm when cooking your meals.

Ever noticed a lingering ache deep in your low back after prolonged sitting or standing? When your back muscles are weak or you have poor posture, intrinsic rectangular muscles between your ribs and hips called the quadratus lumborums, or QLs, work overtime to stabilize your spine and pelvis, leaving them tight and sore. These deep muscles are also near critical organs like the kidneys and colon, which means that in addition to contributing to an achy back they can adversely affect your digestive health, and therefore energy and well-being, according to some alternative health practitioners.
Your QLs get tight and tender when they have to kick in and compensate for poor posture. And often soreness is one-sided, due, say, to carrying a small child on one side or side-sleeping with your top hip hiked up every night. Leg-length discrepancies are also a common cause of QL tension—most people have a slight variance in leg length, and around 2o percent of people have a clinically significant (greater than 2 cm) difference.

It’s like this program knows me. HOW GOOD IS RISOTTO? 🌻 Check out this recipe from the Healthstyle Emporium!! 💥 ingredients: 🌻1 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil 🌻1.5 cups of roasted buckwheat groats
🌻.5 of an onion
🌻6 cups mushrooms
🌻2 cloves garlic
🌻5 cups vegetable broth
🌻1 tablespoon plus juice from half a lime
🌻.25 teaspoon of salt 🌻1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
🌻2 sprigs thyme 🌻Truffle oil (optional) 💥directions: ✨dice the onions, mushrooms and garlic and sauté over medium-low heat with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. When the onions become translucent and the water from the mushrooms evaporates, add the buckwheat groats and toast until fragrant. Add 1 cup of broth, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, salt and thyme and simmer on a low heat, stirring constantly until most of the liquid has been absorbed. Add another cup of broth, stirring constantly until the liquid has been absorbed. Repeat process until all 5 cups of broth has been absorbed. Remove from heat and stir in nutritional yeast. Garnish with lime zest, parsley or green onion (optional). Drizzle over remaining lime juice and truffle oil for an extra boost 💥

It’s the first day of school holidays. I’m relieved it’s the holidays. The morning routine was wearing us all down. I had a nice sleep-in followed by a leisurely later breakfast and then this leftovers lunch which happened to be a late lunch for me. A change in routine has resulted in a change of meal times because I just wasn’t hungry and didn’t feel like eating. #intuitiveeating

You know, I'll be honest, I've started to wonder if maybe I was Hitler's sidekick in my past life? But I've since reminded myself that I have to believe that the world only gives you as much as you can handle (I fucking hope 🤦♀️)
We can all let things break us down. We can all let everything get to us. But truthfully, I think that's the easy way out. The real challenge is taking things as they come, and reminding yourself what you have to be grateful for 💗

This year has been pretty full on, with some big life-changing events for our little family... moving to a new country, starting a business around family life & being blessed with a tiny human coming soon.
This surely will make anybody feel completely drained by this time of the year. Even though it’s not all been smooth sailing, the one thing that was always constant was my health. My energy levels were amazing and I’m able to just keep going. Apart from a tummy bug and a slight cold I have sailed through this pregnancy 🙌🏻 with off the charts iron levels
