An advocate for keeping things real and for showing how things truly are: here are some results of what happens when certain foods are consumed.  Disclaimer: my coach is a staunch supporter of consuming clean healthy foods so the effects I'm presently experiencing are a result of my own foolish actions.  This is an inflammatory reaction to sugar, chemicals and impurities in the food I chose to put in my mouth yesterday.  My eyes are puffy, my stomach bloated, I'm feeling minor aches and sluggishness.  This is my own personal experience from eating food that is not clean and that is NOT optimal fuel for my biological machine.  My body is letting me know that there is something amiss.  Sometimes we can't just eat anything because it fits "the macros formula." My coach knows this and hence has encouraged and continues to promote clean eating.  Now I have a greater appreciation for putting higher quality nutrients aka clean REAL whole food into my body.  If I don't I pay a price. Holy dirty weekend. I feel like bum-hole. My workout reflected it as well. I, like any other woman out there, would love a "perfect" body, but over the last 10 years I slowly learned there is a need for balance between how lean I am and the foods I eat. I genuinely enjoy eating clean. It tastes good, makes me feel good and after the copious amounts of research I have done on nutrition and the effects on the human body, I genuinely WANT to eat clean. But there are weekends like this past one where we go hang out with friends and eat lasagna and garlic bread... And my husband and I share a deliciously large piece of chocolate cake... And I have some Thai and a few glasses of wine. But then you reap what you sew and come Monday I feel like donkey. It's good when I do this, because it's a reminder of why I generally eat as clean as I do.
