The last few days I have been in two of the five National Forests in New Mexico. The landscape in the enchanted state is dotted with sections of these forests and if you ever have driven through NM, chances are you went through at-least one of these multi-use forests. The National Forests are different from National Parks in that they are used for timber production, livestock range land, hunting, wildlife habitat restoration, recreation, research and even some private residential sites exist. This is the main drag through Carson National Forest. Both sides of the road are range lands for cattle but hiking trails exist through out this landscape accessible with a permit from the ranger office. #carsonnationalforest#rangeland#wideopenspaces#highway#forest#nationalforest#newmexico#usfs#timber#west#southwest#landscape#view#parkservice#forestservice
Australia is big. Really big. Even when you tackle just little bits of it. It's still really big.
We decided to take the 4wd along a dried up river bed and see what we could see. We ended climbing up a random rock face and were pretty amazed at the view.
When you sat still for a moment, there was a lot of action around you. Lizards at your feet, goats, little kangaroos, birds and of course lots of flies.
