It’s almost midnight so this counts as a #tbt ... @robert_michael_photography and I left at 10pm to catch the Milky Way rising on the first good weekend of the season back in April. We didn’t expect the 40-50mph winds but made the most of the night and our first attempt using lighting for the foreground. We even met a new friend at this trailhead who was literally running from a pack of coyotes he thought was after him (the head noise is incredible at 3am when it’s pitch black and seems like everything around you is moving) We ended up hanging out until sunrise when we parted company and drove home after being up 26hrs.
Take this mountain weight
Take these ocean tears,
Hold me through the trial
Come like hope again... Even when the fight seems lost,
I'll praise You.
Even when it hurts like hell,
I'll praise You.
Even when it makes no sense to sing,
Louder then I'll sing Your praise.
I will only sing Your praise... .
Awesome of photo of Sutro Baths by my cousin Leo Resplandor. Follow him on IG @infamousdjrebel
This shot I took mostly as a token of my adoration for this kid. My kid! (And no, I did not have him when I was 12. Before I'm asked again! 😜) Taking him exploring with me is such a bliss! He's fun, curious, fearless, and pretty much ready for anything. I want to show him that the world is a very exciting place! We've been to a few road trips around California together and next year we plan on doing a lot more (money and HS senior year permitting). @ethan.elkins #thegreyelk#neverstopexploring#mamasboy#optoutside#followme#californiacaptures#artofvisuals
There wasn't a ton of color in this scene but there was a lot of contrast. Turning this image into a black and white really helped replicate the feeling I had standing here. The crashing waves would catch the first light as they drenched the dark shoreline rocks, still under heavy shadow.
Don't mind the seagull 💩 covered rocks, check out my little merbae being Snow White with a friendly squirrel down by some rocks by a harbor. 💙🐿
Wowed by each other's presence, the curious California ground squirrel came out from hiding in a less typical woody area where it most likely feeds on insects, stems, wildflowers and maybe even fish.🐛➡
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
Second part of what I'm thankful for this year. This for my is a symbol of how photography helped me out. If you saw my post from last night and read the article at 49miles.com, then you know how much a camera means to me.
I'm thankful to my family and friends that's been there and supported me with this process. I would also like to say thank you to IG community for showing me love on the daily.
Photography didn't just become my outlet with depression. It also opened up my mind with a lot of possibilities. It helped me see clearly how beautiful this world and life is. And I'm thankful that I met a lot of great people and new friends along the way. .
Oncd again. I would like to say thank you. And to all the folks out there suffering from depression. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! There's a lot of people that you can talk to including myself. So don't hesitate.

Love this place. I always want to spend more time here but it’s only ever been a quick stop for a few hours of sleep or to stretch my legs in between long drives. Maybe I’ll have to put it back up on my winter to-do list ❄️
