We've got A LOT of mountain ranges here in California where I reside, but there is nothing quite like the Southern Rockies. I generally do my best to get out to Colorado/New Mexico in August during the monsoon (read: shroom) season. While certainly a bit terrifying (think lightning, thunder, hail, flooding, etc) the pay off is more than worth it. And did I mention the late summer berries/fruits? A true forager's paradise! I'll be out on the Front Range (near Denver, CO) teaching on August 25-26. Just keep in mind that as of January 19 both these classes are already nearly full. Scope out our bio link for more details. No regrets, I’ve never really cared for this saying, of course I have regrets. Regrets from career paths, picking majors, not always following my dreams. But my career path is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately trying to figure out what the hell to do with my Life, I know eventually it will come. But until then I will never regret the new experiences I get to have. Whether that’s taking a vacation to participate in a new culture, getting up for a mountain sunrise, struggling through a long snowshoe hike, or learning how to snowboard. These experiences are what I live for. These are what I will never regret. So here’s to being a weekend warrior and seeing as much of this world as we can.
Christmas card looking pic. Kicked this weekends ass with some snowshoeing on Saturday followed by snowboard lessons today. May have bit off a little more we could chew on the snowshoeing but still made it to crater lakes in the James Peak Wilderness. Can’t wait to hit the slopes again next weekend. Now...apres.
The weekend starts now. Time to get after it. What adventures are planned for this weekend?
Photo taken while sea kayaking through the sea caves of Santa Cruz Island, part of @channelislandsnps. It was an incredible experience floating through kelp forest while sea lions popped there heads up to say hello and amazing sea birds flew over head. There were incredible moments of serenity but also complete oh shit moments while paddling through a sea caves. Spoiler alert they fill up fast. I need both types of these experiences in my life. Time to take in the beauty of this earth but also time for some heart pumping adventure. Get after it people.
