Vast salt lakes are the remains of Australia’s ancient river systems. This spectacular image of Wilkinkarra, the largest ephemeral salt lake in Australia, was taken on the Kiwirrkurra Indigenous Protected Area Bush Blitz in 2015.
When dry, the lake is a largely inhospitable environment. However after big rains the area bursts into life and becomes a breeding ground for thousands of water birds.
While it looks like a rugged environment, salt lakes and the wildlife 🦂🦐🦅🌿that depend on them are influenced by changes in the climate, particularly changes that affect rainfall and evaporation levels. #nationalwaterweek

💕☁️ «Soften. Soften into the world around you. Allow the air and earth to heal, revive, rejuvenate, reawaken. Remember how wildness always holds you close – strong, consistent, slow and steady. Rocks you in scents and sights and rhythms. Is always there to ground us. Is always soothing and knowing, and simple, and ready.» 💙🦋 ~•V. Erickson

"Life is amazing. And then it's awful. And then it's amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it's ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That's just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it's breathtakingly beautiful." ~L.R. Knost

After a grueling hike out in the rain, we were finally able to relax at camp knowing that we were done for 2017 in Colorado. It's by far the hardest hunt I do every year, but because of that it's definitely the most rewarding. It's one that pushes you mentally and physically to your limits. In the end you learn to stay positive no matter what and good things just come. I still can't believe @tay_eddy and I were able to double up on bucks, and I was able to witness my dad @finchdad take a beautiful buck as well. Although we didn't see very many deer, we saw enough to make it a trip I'll never forget. Already dreaming of next year, and the preparation begins now:) #ilovemuledeer#highcountry#whyidoit#bucks#wilderness#hunting#packout#eberlestock#kingscamo#xkg#mtnops
Re-vamping my style and photography. I’ve been editing for a while now and I’ve finally found a tone curve that I really like. Moody shadows, rich blacks and bright highlights. Stay tuned for more! Going to be posting a mix of old shots with new stuff
