Meet the faces behind Le Mulet Rouge - Randy, Jody + Tracy. Former architects, these three took a leap to make their dream of owning a winery come true.
We'll be doing a series of blogs highlighting their story. Stay tuned! #LeMuletRouge#FacesOfAmador
"When Oregon’s pioneering winegrowers envisioned planting grapes and making wine in the state’s fertile Willamette Valley, they had a vision that went beyond making world class Pinot noir. They saw something few others did. [...] They saw a modern day Garden of Eden where agriculture in general and viticulture in particular could flourish in harmony with the land and the people who lived there." We are committed to sourcing grapes from sustainably and organically-farmed vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley. Read more from @wvwines about sustainable grape growing in Oregon at the link in our bio.
These beautiful old barrels are a part of a Sherry wine solera system in Jerez, Spain. We traveled there on our honeymoon back in 2014 and absolutely fell in love with this style of wine.
If you ever get a chance to try some, we would recommend picking out a Manzanilla or Fino. Our favorite is La Guita.
#Monastrell o #GSM ?? Esa es la cuestión.

A true classic. T3 - a fine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc & Merlot - became one of our signature wines years ago and remains a favorite still today. When was the last time you enjoyed some T3? •••
Riddling (remuage) process in the stunning undergroud cellar at @sieurdarques, located in Limoux, Languedoc France 🇫🇷 .
Riddling process is only required for sparkling wines developed using the traditional Champagne method.
The process involves leaving Champagne or sparkling wine in racks with the neck tilted downwards, allowing gravity to push the sediments towards the cork.
The bottle is riddled (twisted) in both directions and tilted until all the sediments are collected in one spot.
Tom’s latest blog post looks beyond organic agriculture, this time with an eye on Biodynamics. We enjoyed an educational visit with Eric de Suremain of Château de Monthelie and Jean-Michel Comme at Château Pontet-Canet this past summer where we learned about their practices. Reflections at link in bio.

Tasting one of the greatest Rieslings from Alsace. The Grand Cru Rangen de Thann is the most southern vineyard in Alsace, situated at the end of the Route du Vin, quite isolated from the rest of the Alsatian vineyards. This vineyard appears in history towards the 12th century. It rapidly acquires a great reputation due to the exceptional quality of its wines. There is no doubt that vines were planted here earlier, however the first important transactions relating to parcels of this vineyard are only found in 1272 : according to a document from the Abbey of Murbach, the entire hillside of Rangen was planted to vines.
The Rangen was classified as a Grand Cru in 1983 and awarded appellation status “Appellation Rangen Grand Cru” in 2011.
