FINALS ARE RIPPING THE SOUL OUT OF MY BODY SJSHAVSV also sorry for the low quality meme i’m struggling ~~~ edit: look for your bday twin because scrolling through i’ve found like 12
I really don’t post my academic work on social media, however I felt compelled to showcase some of my recent work from this semester. These pieces were included in my thesis exhibition, Portmanteau. My body of work, “Ethnic Hair Care”, focuses on the ideas of beauty, consumerism and cultural assimilation through utilization of ethnic commodities such as at home hair relaxers. The concept is to represent conformity as being a physical and mental detriment to one’s overall well being.

I said in my IG story the other night how ‘we can’t control our thought’s’ & for people to message me should they have any other opinions. It provided me with some great insight that night & helped me articulate what I meant before writing this post - so to those who message me, appreciated.
Ok, so in summary. We hear so often the term ‘learning to control your thoughts’ & I mean yeah, it sounds great! But the amount of people I’ve then come across beating themselves up for not being able to do it, for having bad thoughts pass through and allowing those thoughts to confuse them…
The reality being we have ZERO control over our thoughts - we never will, but we can control how much focus we put on them. The best analogy is: you have things (people, objects, situations & thoughts) which are what we perceive. Then you have the perceiver (YOU.)..
You perceive the mobile phone in your hand, but you are not your phone - exactly in the same way you perceive thoughts, but you are NOT your thought. Thoughts, good & bad are simply a perception, like a cloud in the sky they come & go as they please - you have no control over what you’re going to think of next.
How we ‘perceive’ these “things”, are often tainted via conditioning & also via our own contexts and experiences. But in removing those learnt behaviours, stripping it back to our most true, raw, authentic selves, we can begin to perceive ‘TRUTH’; & in turn react based on that.
Learning who YOU are, removing the external & the mind, staying true to that - its only then that your reactions will no longer be based through your emotions but instead your emotions will become a by product of your reaction.
Getting to know who you are takes time & perseverance. It doesn’t happen over night, it requires you to take the time daily, to forgive yourself, love yourself & overall accept yourself. Only then will you be free.
So stop trying to control what you cannot. Stop looking for contentment externally.
Start & stay within. ✨
The greatest danger to our future is apathy...

Besides being a cancer remedy, graviola is a broad spectrum antimicrobial agent for both bacterial and fungal infections, is effective against internal parasites and worms, lowers high blood pressure and is used for depression, stress and nervous disorders," explains The Citizens Column. "Research shows that with extracts from this miraculous tree it now may be possible to:
* Attack cancer safely and effectively with an all-natural therapy that does not cause extreme nausea, weight loss and hair loss
* Protect your immune system and avoid deadly infections
* Feel stronger and healthier throughout the course of the treatment
* Boost your energy and improve your outlook on life"
Not surprisingly, the drug industry has repeatedly tried to synthesize and patent the disease-fighting compounds found naturally in graviola. Leaked data reveals that one unnamed drug company in particular spent seven years and hundreds of millions of dollars trying to replicate graviola's innate healing compounds and claim them as its own. But these efforts ultimately failed, and thanks to an insider source, we now know the truth about graviola.
Beyond this, there is also copious published science replete with evidence corroborating what this drug company found. The National Cancer Institute, for instance, has known since the 1970s that graviola leaves and branches attack and destroy malignant cancer cells. And research conducted many years later at the Catholic University in South Korea found that graviola seeds target colon and lung cancer cells. "As far as the fruit goes, you may be able to find it at some grocery and health food stores in your area," adds The Citizen's Column. "There are several different soursop juice manufacturers, distributors and suppliers worldwide." You can learn more about graviola and how to use it properly, particularly in the treatment of cancer, by visiting CancerTutor.com:

I am a gorgeous and phenomenal woman. And I don't mean that in a egocentric way. I am a beautiful, compassionate, sensitive creator. Within me I have the power to create, nurture and transform. I am divine feminine energy ✨
Not "God" as in a sky Daddy. Not in the typical sense but as in the whole . You Find yourself as the whole, as All of reality instead of Tied to the illusion of self. You start losing a self , not just in "you" but you start to see the impermanence in everything , you start to see the no-thingness in All which brings the recogntion of connection, of oneness. In that you see just Who And what is "God" you find it is All of this ,everything, not as a separate entity somewhere else. You have to learn to die, to see through the illusion of self As well as through the "self" in All objects. When you can accept this death you no longer operate in fear (All fear stems to death) And life begins to be lived.
Reality/ "God" is not a noun it is a verb , nounes die. 👁✌🏽#consciousness#truth#spirituality#spiritual#enlightenment#ego#mind#peace#love#reality#hippie#life#buddha#mystic#closedmindsneveropendoors#god#death#real#psychedelic#selfie#awakening#awake#woke
“Pleasure is in no way the enemy in our search for happiness, it comes and goes. When it’s here, we tend to grasp at it; when it’s gone, we want more. That addiction is the untrained heart-mind’s natural reaction to anything pleasurable. This is clear in the Buddha’s Second Noble Truth: the cause of suffering is craving for pleasure.
Though we speak of ourselves as addicts, drug addicts, sex addicts, alcoholics, food addicts, what we are really addicted to isn’t the substances or the behaviors—drugs or sex or food or alcohol—but our own minds. We are addicted to that part of the *MIND THAT CRAVES,* that says we *MUST* satisfy this desire or that. Even in 12-step recovery programs that view addiction as a disease, it is said that the drugs and alcohol are only a symptom of an internal imbalance. That’s why we say that our relationship to craving is the problem, not the substances or behaviors themselves.
This is the place where the spiritual practice of recovery comes in. The Buddha’s “against the stream” principle tells us that it’s counterinstinctual: it goes against our very human survival instincts to accept pain and not chase pleasure. It is a veritable internal battle, because breaking the addiction to our knee-jerk satisfaction of craving goes against our natural human tendencies. When life is uncomfortable, we naturally want it to change; when life is good, we want things to stay as they are. It goes against our nature to stop trying to satisfy our craving, to allow the craving to be there without reacting to it.”

UNBELIEVABLE/// I’m grateful to grow up in a time with some media regulation, but sadly this ad is not much worse than the ones we are bombarded with every day and the omnipresent media. Question what you see. Would men be targeted ads this way? No, because that wouldn’t appeal to them, but for some reason, preying on the fears of female inadequacy is okay as long as it’s in the name of “self-improvement”. Don’t let someone sell you your self-hatred, or a different version of yourself. You’re not here to be pretty, you’re here to be magnificent.
