8 km para hoy, con cacos:
3' caminar + 2' correr,
salvo el km 7, de carrera continua.
A ello uno, como rutina, 2' de plancha, unas series de sentadillas, unas flexiones (éstas, a mi modo 😂) y ejercicios de mancuernas.
Buen fin de semana 😊🌷
When I trained for my first marathon (5 years ago before kids) I was constantly consumed by FEAR. There were so many "what ifs" that would run through my mind before a long run or big race.
What if: I can't do it, I get cramps/blisters/hurt/dehydrated/tired/on and on... This would REALLY hold me back from pushing myself to be the best I could. You train much differently when you are "just training to finish" then when you are training to be YOUR BEST.
Now that I am back at training and coaching I am a completely different person thanks to all that personal development I have been doing (investing in self!). I have a mantra that I say before I head out and constantly repeat to myself as I go. If you dont have one, get one!! Declare what you wish to be as if you are that already. This keeps me confident, strong and focused on my BOSTON 2019 GOAL! 💪
“Running is a big question mark that’s there each and every day. It asks you, 'Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?'”—Peter Maher -
The rain didn’t stop me. Today’s workout was: 3 miles easy
14 miles 8:30-40
2 miles easy. It went better than I thought it would and nailed the paces. So thankful things are going well. Happy Saturday!
First of all how crazy that I'm still running in a tee and shorts in late October in Chicago? But climate change is fake news so that's that.
I decided that I'm going to run my hot chocolate 15K without music so I've been running without music for few weeks now. I didn't even take my phone with me today and felt great. Had horrible heart burn for 4 miles so I'm proud of this run for not quitting. 7 miles in the bank Ave Pace 9:39
Now I'm off to a 5K run! Cheers!
Yes, I am that girl blowing up your feed this week. I take a week off of running, and when I come back I feel the need to share everything with you. So of course I had to share my second run with you!!! Thanks to all of your comments and all of the double digit runs that I saw posted I was itching to finish this run when I got back home. Despite my husbands eye rolls I headed back out to finish what I started this morning. If you haven’t noticed I’m incredible stubborn and I couldn’t end this training session with two bad long runs in a row (I’m counting Chicago). Sometimes this bull headed personality of mine pays off and I think it did today! Now I have that runners high that I was chasing this morning. Now, I can sit back and relax for a couple of hours knowing I already finished my long run for the week. Now it’s a happy Saturday!!!!
Day 731 - 3.2 miles of much needed introvert time. After chowing down on pastries at the farmers market with friends, the dog and I explored some local trails and neighborhoods filled with blazing trees and homes filled with mums and pumpkins. We ran to the lake, laid out on the dock in the warm sunlight, then meandered back on a bike. Sometimes it's so welcome to have a run that is more about relaxation than a workout. Gotta keep it fun!
On a crisp and gorgeous morning in Santa Cruz, there were women jogging, rehabbing injuries, running 20 miles, 15 marathon tempo miles, 8 half marathon miles and still others doing their own thing. It was a solid morning to be part of this crew! 🙌🏼💙
Well... that was hard. You know your working when @brianjscanlon comes to check on you cuz he can here you wheezing/breathing/yelling/dying.
I ❤️ self limiting workouts/HIIT aka you are in control of how hard you will work, and how long you will rest
Saturday TREADMILL HIIT:
Done @ a RUN pace. Goal= accumulate 3 minutes at RUN pace for each incline . You decide when you rest, how long you run , etc.
What this looked like for me:
15%(30s run, walk 1 min)x6
10% (45s run, Walk ~45-60s) x4
5% (90s run, walk 1 min)x2
0% (3 min run... started increasing speed with 90s left finished at 10mph for final 10s)
HOW WILL YOU BREAK IT UP?
I finished!! It was sooooo congested which slowed me down, and then we had to stop right before the finish for several emergency vehicles! But I still had fun and managed an average of a 9 min mile even with several slow downs. I felt my pace was fast when I was able to really run. I figured I'd be slower due to a longer distance than I've run (7.5 miles), first big race, and several steep hills, plus my hip pain was flaring up today, & the sun was beating down. I was hoping for a 9 min mile, so I'm pretty happy. My leg was the last one, so the half marathoners were there too, as well as marathoners, which definitely made it hard to manuver, but I made it!! 💪 Woot! Now, time for some pizza and a beer 🍺🍕
Yesterday was my last night in Nashville, so myself and the bestie spent half the day just bar hopping, soaking up our last moments together. Even though I had a few drinks, I still managed to get out the door bright and early today morning for a 5 mile run from Greek Row to Peabody and then over to Centennial Park and the Parthenon one last time. Just goes to show that even if you go out, there's really no excuse to not get after it and put in the work 🏃🏻💪🏻
There are people who come in to your life and journeys that you didn’t ever think you would take. These are a result of my brother passing and my grief journey. Running gave me the space to grieve. Shaun T reminded me to show up everyday and @anne0enna shared her grief journey and listened and told me that it was ok to cry doing burpees. I got to meet these two amazing people today! #shaunt#beachbodyuk
I have missed my running over the last few weeks but I'm hoping to get back out there next week! Although I might be swapping my vest for my stars tee instead!
