We now have 3 offers on our house in a little over 2 days and I'm realizing that this house I have learned so much from, cared for and gotten so frustrated with, may not be mine a month from now. It's a very strange thing to consider.
Looking at my kitchen countertop brings back so many memories of good times. The old countertop had a bar that was too high so we made a flat slab that opened up the whole first floor so we could talk, shout and laugh with so many friends from so many places. An Italian friend @gab_skin2 who stayed at our house a few weeks gave me some ideas for the concrete pour. A day or so later he met his German wife while the slab was curing. As of this writing it looks like they must be on holiday, yodeling in the mountains of Austria😮😮😮 This monstrous slab cured on my 8' x 10' patio for a few months. When I finally got the time right for the install we demoed the countertop and the drywall with several friends including @ynosenko. It took all day. That night four of our best friends Kirk and Valerie Lewis' and Chad and Sarah Davis' helped us drag it in out of sub zero temperatures- a true test of friendship that was!
Since then we have enjoyed the fruit of that labor with so many good times and great people. The Sapele Mahogany inlay has sparked many conversations and acted as a beautiful coaster for many delicious beer tastings.
It's amazing to me how much meaning an object can have.
