Make some wooden cauls for keeping panels flat. I ripped down thick strips of oak and then cover them with packing tape so the glue doesn’t stick. Tighten them down with some @besseytools_na clamps and your good to go!
So if you checked out my story from last night, this is the end result. My own WoodWise Wood Butter. It contains a beeswax and oil blend that restores and protects your cutting boards and wooden utensils. It smells of sweet honey and creates an amazing finish! Will be available next week with a few samples going out!
See this gloss and shimmer on the Ambrosia Maple cutting board. There is ZERO finish on this board. How does it get like that? 1 thing @diablo_tools #sandnet sand paper. It leaves the surface with an absolutely amazing finish!
Well to keep it going I was asked by my buddy @titowilsondesigns to share my #monthofmaking These are some of my projects from a very busy September! What did your month look like @kraftedbyengineer @josh_wildwonderfulwoodworks
How about a #woodworkoutwednesday I picked up this log from a city tree job for free. Unfortunately it was the only one I could manhandle myself. I see your truck and table jump @thewoodpastor and @gingerwoodworks and I raise you a fresh cut green log carry.
In response to @kraftedbyengineer post. There would be no WoodWiseWV without my beautiful Wife @ben_lilly_mum She supports me 100% All the long nights in the shop, when I get stressed about deadlines, and is my quality control if something looks like crap. Plus she looks pretty hot in the @woodwisewv Tshirt!
#Protip want to make perfect dados in multiple legs? Using a cross cut sled after all your legs are cut and squared clamp them up with some squared scrap. Mark your cuts and then move SLOWLY! As you get close stop and make sure your not taking to much. The result perfect level dados in all legs.
This is an example of my grandfathers work. He hand carved this eagle into the roots of a dogwood tree. I've been lucky enough to have him in my shop pretty often the last couple of weeks. Here's to learning all I can!
Today my Dad would have been 58 years old. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. So I thought I would post this certificate I found to celebrate him and his life. He was a certified carpenter and taught me a lot. Love you Dad and I'll see you again!
I need help!!! I'm refinishing oak hardwood flooring and the floor is very unlevel. The floor drum sander is missing a ton of spots! Any advice, tips, tricks? @cushmanhomeimprovement @toolpig @toolaholic
This is raw ambrosia maple. With the awesome power of the @ridgidpowertools Random orbital sander and the new @diablo_tools 400 grit sand net it puts a gloss on the cutting board before an ounce of finish even touches it. If you haven't tried out the sand nets yet grab a pack. They last a lot longer than the standard paper and provide for an amazing finish.
Today's #ff goes out to @royal_wood_works this guys cutting boards are amazing and what inspired me to push myself to make better product. If you aren't following him you should be. Just look at that board!
Finished up my first grain match End Grain cutting board. This one is made from Cherry, Maple, and Walnut. I really enjoy this style as it takes more time and thought. It was inspired by the amazing boards that @royal_wood_works makes. Go check out his incredible work.
So I finally finished up this half octagon table that I started for for my wife last summer. It's sized to fit directly under the window on our front porch. I learned to stain the wood first before constructing the table on this one. Polished it all up with @howard_products
Exciting evening in the shop. My grandfather is visiting and checking out my work. We almost lost him at the beginning of the year. He has taught me most of everything I know. It's a pretty proud moment for me.
