Shelves for Essential Oils - A year ago my wife started buying these little bottles of magical potions. At first I was suspicious. Every time I said my head hurt or that I had an ache, she would reply, “I have an oil for that.” After seeing her eliminate chronic migraines and insomnia, and fill our house with incredibly calming aromas, I’m a believer.
This plane is pretty beat up. I always tell myself that I need to get a new one, but it was my granddad's. He didn't teach me much about wood working, but he taught me lessons about life that translate pretty well.
1. Some of the best lessons come through failures.
2. Nothing reveals character like stress.
3. Be confident in your actions.
I think I'll hang on to this guy for a little while longer.
Finishing up some walnut trim to go around the base of the #modernwalnuttable . For smaller pieces like this my favorite finish is spray shellac. Looks good, dries super fast, and gives off that wonderful rubbing alcohol smell when you spray it. Just kidding, but seriously...
Finished End Grain Plaid Cutting Board. This board measures 19" x 12" x 1.75". If you or anyone or interested in something like this let me know!

Claro Walnut Catch-All Dish - first piece with my new @amanatool bowl and tray bit #45982 from @toolstoday! It took some practice cuts to get the feed and depth rates correct, but after that it worked like a dream. Just some minor sanding after it cuts and it was ready for oil 👍🏼
When I saw two broken, dirty, mismatched shutters by the side of the road, I just knew they were wishing to be something bright and beautiful.
This piece was my first experience with @rustoleumusa’s chalked paint and it was incredible! Especially since the shutters were so torn up and I had to patch several places—this chalk paint covered everything so well.
The new 21 Gauge pin / brad nailer from @cadextools is now available! Here is a size comparison between the new 21g (V1/21.35) and the 23g (V1/21.35C). They are basically identical guns except now with bigger nails. Both shoot 1/2” - 1 3/8” nails, 100 pcs magazine capacity and have the double trigger safety. One thing I REALLY like about the new gun is the better protected spring mechanism in the magazine (picture 3). These guns have quickly become my go to nailers and I am looking forward to replacing all of my current gear with these. Along with that systainer compressor one of these days 😜. Link to their website is in the bio. .
Today after work I started milling up some Ebony for the splines that will be inserted between the breadboard ends and infield on my #greeneandgreene inspired #sitstanddesk . To save material I took very light passes (less than 1/32") on the jointer to get a flat face and square edge. I'm excited to be at this stage of the build where I can really start chipping away at the details. #millinglumber
