Happy Monday!! I know I’m probably the minority here, but I absolutely LOVE Mondays. I think it’s because it’s the start of a brand new week and so I get to set myself a whole new bunch of goals and objectives for the week. I usually plan to do something nice at least once a week with friends or even just by myself, so I guess I’m always looking forward to that too. I have a challenge for you this week: Let’s try this week to reduce the amount of stress and pressure we place on ourselves. Yes it’s indeed Monday again and that means another working week, but we need to be realistic about the stresses and demands we have of ourselves. I am not trying to point out the obvious when I say that stress is bad for you. It honestly and sincerely is on so many levels. Yes there are the mental and physical demand increases when you increase your stress, but beyond that there are also increased hormonal activity that will likely result in less than ideal outcomes for you.
For example, did you know when you stress your cortisol and insulin hormones increase? These hormones trigger fat storage and weight retention (or even weight gain). It is important to remember that you are human and so there is only so much that you can realistically achieve in a day. Beyond that may seem like it would be of great benefit to you and you work, but please remember not to berate yourself or punish yourself if you aren’t able to achieve extra things.
Some ideas to help you reduce the amount of stress in your day/week:
*Set yourself some goals for the day - not too many, or nothing will get done.
*Give yourself time to take breaks during the day so that you don’t burn out.
*Make sure you eat at regular times to keep up your energy and mental focus.
*Get out and enjoy the sunshine and some fresh air if you can.
*Go for a walk/jog (20-30 mins is plenty of time) just to clear your mind and increase your endorphins.
*Schedule one morning in the week when you don’t have to jump out of bed and rush around super early.
I hope that this has given you some ideas, if you still need more ideas or suggestions, please get in touch with me and I’d be more than happy to help.
Spent an hour in the office, got the bare bones built! It's starting to take some shape. Can't wait to get the air conditioner installed. Thank you @azian6er for help with building the furniture. The couch is the Solsta from #IKEA , by far the easiest thing we've ever built from there. 🙌
This semester I am taking on three units at #uni which means I have to be super time efficient and very organised.
#overwhelm leads to #anxiety which is not something I want to revisit, so at the start of each week I print off a blank iCal and block out my study time, family time and work commitments and stick it on my wall.
I also use an app called #focuskeeper which keeps me focused on one task at a time, with no distractions!! Most importantly I prioritise and make myself accountable.
What can you do today to make your week run smoothly?
We call this image: "taking the time to re-hydrate". Which essentially means: we were hit with the whopper work week. You know the kind? Where each night just rolls into the next morning & you're not sure who decided cereal was only an acceptable meal choice one time of the day (seriously though, who?). We're back & we're onto it. Miss us? We bloody missed you for those days in the dark. Let's never separate again!! Babes, smash your Monday. Focus on one thing & get it done. 💋Xx
It's getting so close! I am working on the listing now and I hope to have at least two different packages available for those who want more or less organizers!
Lots of fun things to come this next week!
Week ONE of this new MIND-SHIFT program complete!! I feel as though I'm coming to work on my MINDSET every time I start my workout! There's no greater feeling.
Loving every bit of these workouts so far!
Here's to WEEK TWO!
So I finally got around to giving this one a fair shot. The texture is definitely gritty and takes some getting used to but I've had really good results with it. Like skin glowing results. It does have the ingredient "coconut alkanes" in it so be careful if you have a sensitivity to that. Also, I'm used to Vitamin Cs and i still was a bit taken aback by the strong stinging sensation so keep that in mind too! Overall I am still testing it out but as of right now I would definitely add this to my repurchase list ✅
