The quaintest little humble street left in Franklin. No frills. Just neighbors and families with frolicking children and great great grandmothers, small town living and, thankfully for this Northern girl, four seasons. Welcome Winter.
I cannot stop listening to this. What a beautiful sound coming out of #kenya . Even though Africa has been raped and pillaged for centuries, there is still so much beauty that come out of it. I cannot wait until we go visit.
When it's not actually raining so you can use one of your many leather backpacks. Or, maybe this should be titled "the things you told yourself you won't happen to take with you on vacation even though they'd fit in your carry on..."
Do all entrepreneurs and small business owners feel weird when you're faced with a day off/a long vacation? As someone who has run my own freelance career on and off for 7 years, I always feel a little guilty taking an actual WEEK of FULL days off. Won't I get bored?
I always try to do something "productive" early in the morning, or READ something productive, when I'm away. Maybe it was @remoteyear, disguising a year of work as a year of 'vacation', but I love putting in a few hours of design and illustration on a "lazy day", or coming up with innovative products or services during fun conversations or time spent in a hammock. #workaholic anyone? I actually think this can be a bit detrimental, because I never end up charging as much for the work I do in my "down time". But sometimes, your strengths don't FEEL like your strengths simply because they feel easier. Resolution? Charge what you're worth, find ways to recharge, and maybe leave the day planner at home. (Fingers might have been crossed on that last one 😉📒✏️).
Knowing your value and work-life balance can go hand-in-hand.
If you’re undervaluing what you bring to your team, you don’t know how to negotiate more flexibility and work-life balance at work. It’s harder to make the request for a transition to a professional part-time role, a flexible schedule, or work from home, etc. Knowing your value becomes an integral part of the process of getting to your desired work-life balance.
When you’re an entrepreneur and you don’t know your value, how do you command the rate you’re looking for? And, when you understand your value and make the adjustments in your pricing, you might
not have to work as many hours to get to the same income level.
Want to know more about understanding your value? Check out this week’s blog. The link to the blog is in my bio.
Have you figure out your value? If so, what kinds of questions did you consider? How has understanding your value impacted your work-life balance? . . . .

Nothing like historic towns and pink clouds 😍💭🌸.
York is such a beautiful city over the last two days here I have fallen in love! The whole city is pretty much in walking distance and it’s crawling with history ... And there might be a few good bars and eating places ... just a few 👌🏼❤️.
York Minster, UK.
Sisterhood creates magic.
The magic to heal old scars and wounds, show you the best version of yourself, and leave you reverberating to the rhythm of possibility.
And by sisterhood, I’m not referring to just any group of girls or a sorority.
I’m talking about meeting other women on a soul level, revealing your flaws and insecurities, and being met with love and acceptance.
It means leaving your comparisons, ego, and judgements at the door.
Seeing your humanness reflected in another and deciding to choose love anyways.
The sisterhood wound runs deep in our society. I’ve experienced it myself. The jealousy, the cattiness, the petty conflict, BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY.
Surround yourself with women you want to share your hopes, your dreams, your beliefs with and next thing you know it...
Are you feeling overwhelmed by all the pressure around having a business plan, set your goals, and have it all figured by now?
I hear you.
While I love planning, I certainly don't agree with the hype around it.
You can do business planning your way and get away with it. Yes! you read it right, you can do this your way and succeed. In fact, I think that's the best way - it creates flow, open creativity, and makes building your business fun.
I've proved it over and over again.
Every time I follow my intuition, my excitement, my passion, I get results (even though I don't have it all perfectly done). And when I've followed the rules, the gurus advice, the 'shoulds', I've failed to meet my goals (even though I had it all perfectly done)
That's why I'm writing my workbook Plan.Achieve.Grow
I want to share with you my process, so you can tune into your intuition, follow your excitement, and start seeing results for your efforts.
Plan.Achieve.Grow is the perfect combination between business planning and mindset. It's designed to help you take action like never before, make an impact, and grow your business without the burnout.
You'll learn how to * get more done without the hustle.
* create your own plan to make your ideas happen, your way.
* set your mindset for success, overcome limiting beliefs, and beat procrastination.
* Plan your content for the year, quarter by quarter. No more breaking your head thinking about what to post, what services to create, etc. You’ll have all your year planned out which means you’ll hit your income goals faster.
Make 2018 the year you create more than you consume <- that's the secret to a profitable business.

When I first started in photography, the whole process end to end was much more hands on. While I would never trade in the benefits of digital, I do find myself fatigued and wanted to work on something tangible from time to time.
It turns out I'm not alone - hello, Pinterest! There's something therapeutic and soothing about working with your hands, and building something beautiful! Over the last year, my team and I have been developing the DIY PhotoCraft curriculum. We just launched this month, and are so excited!
This month, we've been focusing on milestones at @littlenestglenmills. I'm a big believer in celebrating the milestones, both big and small. When you take a moment to celebrate and reflect on how far you've come, it gives you the courage to believe that you can do great things. Each little victory and celebration fill a well of positivity that I draw on for inspiration in the best times, and go back to when I'm going through a lot to remind me that change is constant, and that this, too, shall pass.
In this month's PhotoCraft, we'll be making a wall hanging with foil lettering - just bring your smart phone, and print a copy of your favorite picture in studio! I love this idea for a family photo, a snapshot of your new little one, or a token of your love on Valentine's Day to a partner or spouse.
We'll be hosting classes throughout the month in the afternoons and evenings - check out the Little Nest Glen Mill's website for details!
Someone asked me today "What is your 5 year plan?" and I just sat there in silence trying to think of the best answer. The truth is - I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up 🤷🏻♀️ but I'm determined to start planning a little better. I'm a very goal oriented type of person. I set goals and I work hard to achieve them so that's exactly what I'm going to do for my "5 year plan" (not just work goals but fitness goals, running, etc) ✨ Sure, I'll have setbacks and maybe even fly through certain things but in the end, I'll achieve whatever goal I set for myself. 🙌🏼 Do you set goals for yourself or do you go with the flow? #goals
If I would know only one thing for sure, then it's that WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER!
I had to learn this. I had to unlearn keeping everything to myself, trying to solve every thing myself and I had to unlearn that sharing and connecting doesn't equal bothering others, making others worry or pulling them down.
I had to unlearn and learn a lot in this area... and I'm deepening this knowledge every single day. Experiencing the power of true, honest and authentic connection every single day.
Offline and online and quite frankly, it's the online world that blows me away the most.
So much happening in the online female business world that's not short of anything but magic.
Not sure if I used the right phrasing here, but you get what I mean!
